1. Situational Irony: There’s a reason why the poison costs
more than the love potion! How will giving the love potion to
Diana bring about results that are the opposite of what is
expected? (3)
2. Verbal Irony: The old man sounds like he is being helpful
and generous. Why is he not? What is he implying will happen
when Alan is older? (4)
3. Dramatic Irony: We as readers seem to know something
that Alan does not. What do we know or sense about the old
man that Alan doesn’t seem to understand? (3)
