2016 Yard Waste Schedule
Red: Cambridge & Waterloo, Wellesley,
Woolwich & North Dumfries Townships
The Region of Waterloo Waste Management Services provides residential blue box,
green bin, garbage, yard waste and bulky item and appliances collection.
When is collection?
• Tri-city: weekly
• Townships: see your township calendar
• Collection is provided on all holidays except
Christmas and New Years Day.

To ensure your items are collected:
• All items to the curb by 7 a.m.
• Items must be accessible at street level
• Bag all small, loose garbage
• Maximum weight is 23 kilograms (50 pounds)
• Maximum length is 92 centimetres (3 feet)
• Garbage can: maximum 121 litre
(32 gallons), two handles, with removable lid
What can’t be collected:
• Garbage/recycling in a cardboard box
• Oversized/overweight containers
• Household hazardous waste (HHW)
• Tires, concrete, propane tanks, electronics
and other banned items
Waste collection and disposal are regulated
by Regional By-laws 02-011 and 98-89,
available on our website.
Bi-weekly yard waste preparation:
• Paper bags only, or a garbage can identifie
with either a big ribbon on the handle or a
yard waste sticker. Call 519-575-4400 for
stickers.
• No plastic bags.
• Tie and bundle branches. Maximum
diameter 8 centimetres (3 inches) and
maximum length 92 centimetres (3 feet)
• Maximum weight 23 kilograms (50 pounds)

Box 1: Containers (empty, rinse, place in loose)

• Plastic bread, produce, salt, grocery bags, zipper
bags & outer wrap from cases of pop or paper
towels (stuff all plastic in a bag & tie shut)
