LOOKING AHEAD: The Marlins return to Jupiter tomorrow to host the Minnesota Twins. It will be the second and final
meeting of the spring between the clubs; the Twins were 9-6 winners on February 27 in Fort Myers. Left-hander Wei-Yin Chen is scheduled to make his
third start of the spring; he has tossed 3.0 scoreless innings thus far, allowing just one hit.
TUESDAY’S GAME: Miami was on the wrong end of a 9-2 decision against the host Cardinals at Roger Dean Stadium. St. Louis got off to a 4-0 lead
before Miami chipped away with a two-run seventh; both runs scored on a double by Moises Sierra.
GRAPEFRUIT LEAGUE LEADERS: Entering Thursday, Tyler Moore is tied for the Grapefruit League lead in home runs (3), and Miguel Rojas and Christian
Yelich are tied for fourth in RBI (7).
WBC UPDATE: The Marlins announced last week that over 130,000 tickets have been sold for the six first-round World Baseball Classic games scheduled
to take place at Marlins Park from March 9-12, and that the March 11 game between the Dominican Republic and United States has sold out. Marlins Park will play host to Pool C action between Canada, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, and the United States. Games begin tonight with the
Dominican Republic hosting Canada (6:00 p.m.), and continue tomorrow with the United States hosting Colombia (6:00 p.m.). Games 3 & 4 will take
place on March 11, with Canada hosting Colombia at 12:00 and the Dominican Republic hosting the U.S. at 6:30. Games 5 & 6 will take place on
March 12, with Colombia hosting the Dominican Republic at 12:30, and the U.S. hosting Canada at 7:00. If necessary, a tiebreaker game will be held
on March 13 at 6:00. Tickets to the other five games of Pool C play are still available at www.marlins.com/WBC.
CURRENT ROSTER: Miami opened camp with 63 players, including a full 40-man roster and 23 non-roster invitees. The roster consists of 33 pitchers (10
NRIs); 20 right-handers (five NRIs) and 13 left-handers (five NRIs). There are nine catchers (five NRIs), 11 infielders (four NRIs) and 10 outfielders (four NRIs).
PATRIOTIC DUTY: Five players in Major League camp with the Marlins are representing their native country at the World Baseball Classic this week.
Outfielders Giancarlo Stanton and Christian Yelich are playing for the United States; catcher A.J. Ellis was scheduled to join them, but withdrew due
to a hamstring strain. Infielder Martín Prado is suiting up for Venezuela, starting pitcher Edinson Volquez is pitching for the Dominican Republic, and
Tayron Guerrero is pitching for Colombia.
ALL-STAR GAME COMES TO MIAMI: The Marlins will host the Midsummer Classic for the first time in club history when the Midsummer Classic comes to
Marlins Park on July 11. All-Star week festivities will begin on July 7 and continue through the final weekend of the first half and into the All-Star break.
FanFest will kick off at the Miami Beach Convention Center on July 7 and run through July 11; Marlins Park will host All-Star Sunday on July 9, featuring
the Sirius XM All-Star Futures Game and the All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game; the T-Mobile Home Run Derby will take place at Marlins Park
on July 10; and the week will conclude with the 88th MLB All-Star Game on July 11.
YOUR RADIO HOME FOR MARLINS’ BASEBALL: Once again in 2017 the Marlins home on the radio dial will be WINZ 940 AM, which will broadcast all 162
games in the regular season and 15 Spring Training contests. In addition, all 162 regular season and 15 Spring Training games can be heard on 940’s
partner station, 94.9 HD2 in 2017. Hall of Fame broadcaster Dave Van Horne and Glenn Geffner will return to the broadcast booth for their 10th season
together. For all Spanish listeners, Hall-of-Famer Felo Ramirez and Yiky Quintana will call all 162 regular season games in what is the duo’s 16th season
together, and 10th on the Marlins flagship Spanish station, WAQI 710 AM. In addition to select games on the Marlins Radio Network, fans will also have
the opportunity to listen to 10 games exclusively on MLB.com.
FOX SPORTS FLORIDA BROADCAST INFORMATION: This season, the Marlins will have 150 games broadcast by FOX Sports Florida, all of which will be
available in HD. The 2017 campaign kicks off on April 3rd, when the Fish pay a visit to the Washington Nationals. The home opener will be April 11th,
when the Marlins host the Atlanta Braves at 7:10pm. Rich Waltz will call all the action alongside former Marlins’ outfielder Todd Hollandsworth; they will
be joined throughout the season by Preston Wilson, Craig Minervini and Jessica Blaylock, as well as former Marlin Jeff Conine. All home games produced on FOX Sports Florida will be broadcast with SAP, and as in previous
2017 MARLINS’ SPRING TRAINING LEADERS
years, fans will recognize Raul Striker, Jr. calling the action in Spanish.
MARLINS CREDENTIALS: All media members requesting a daily credential
must do so using MLB’s online credential system, located at https://credentials.mlb.com. Daily credentials for regular season games must be requested at least 24 hours in advance. Once a decision on approval is made, the
requesting party will receive e-mail correspondence from the Marlins. If you
are not contacted by someone from our office, please call at least one day
in advance to confirm that your credentials before arriving at Marlins Park.
The Marlins will honor MLB passes and BBWAA cards at all home games.
