GENERAL DESCRIPTION PIEPER’s unique glass edge marking system GLM-8048-PC-2-IQ can make work in the control room of a float glass factory quicker, more efficient and cleaner. Glass edges and/or top roller tracks used to be drawn with a felt-tip pen on the monitor screen. Every time production changed these lines had to be removed and redrawn, which took up much valuable time. This is prior state of the art. With our glass edge marking system, you simply draw the subsidiary lines with an electronic pen on the surface of a touch panel terminal device. On the press of a button you send these lines to the relevant monitor via WLAN, where they are inserted in the screen automatically. Changes and corrections can be made at any time. This mobile glass edge marking system is easy and simple to handle. The system can be used for all monitoring screens of a float glass line. FEATURES In addition to marking of glass edges, the GLM-8048PC-2-IQ system enables the control room operator to monitor other production processes. For example, data sent by the TDS 2560-2 temperature measuring system and the width measuring system/top roller position can be displayed directly in the live video images of the top roller cameras via integrated interfaces. The display of data, such as e.g., digital or false colour temperature display, angle, flow rate etc., makes the processes in the glass bath easier to interpret for the operator. Two furnace cameras and two VGA monitors can be connected directly to the system. Other connection options are provided by the fact that the system can be cascaded infinitely.
