She received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Southern Methodist University. For nine years following graduation, she was a CPA with Ernst & Young. Currently, Mrs. O’Neill’s civic activities include membership in various civic and charitable organizations including serving as a member of the Children’s Medical Center Foundation; the Susan G. Komen Foundation; the Highland Park Education Foundation; La Fiesta de las Seis Banderas; Highland Park Independent School District; the Crystal Charity Ball; Dallas Women’s Club; Marianne Scruggs Garden Club; St. Mark’s Parents’ Association; Junior League of Dallas; the Presbyterian Hospital Foundation of Dallas; Chi Omega; and the including membership on the Foundation’s Executive Committee; the Audit Committee; Finance Committee; nominating committee; and the National Charity League. Mrs. O’Neill became ex officio member of the SMU Board of Trustees in 2007 in conjunction with her position as President of the SMU Alumni Association. In 2012 she was elected Trustee and currently serves on the Academic Policy, Planning and Management, Buildings & Grounds, and the Development & External Affairs Committees. She is steering committee co-chair for the Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education and Human Development and member of the Executive Committee of the Cox School of Business. Mrs. O’Neill and her husband, Chris, reside in Dallas.
