Tulip Facts:
 The City of Pella Parks Department planted over 101,000 tulips in parks and street flower beds. (Over 180 flower beds!)
 76 different varieties were planted in the Tulip Avenue in Central Park.
 When deciding what bulbs to plant each fall staff considers the following: color, height, location (how much sun/shade),
bloom time, surrounding foliage or hardscape and uniqueness.
 Proximity of beds to brick/concrete/buildings that radiate warmth can cause tulips to bloom sooner than expected due to
increased soil warmth.
