Little Blessings Preschoolers have been very busy. The kids have been learning about creation,
Noah's Ark, Moses, and are thankful for all God's Blessings! We practice writing our letters, learn
phonetic sounds, count, and do number recognition a daily basis. Last month we visited Sehnert's
Bakery to learn how they make donuts for the letter “D” week.
We want to thank Dave Winder, Tom & Mika Lentz and family for their help in staining
the playground equipment!
We appreciate and are thankful for your support of
this ministry in our church! Additionally, you are invited
to our Christmas Programs November 30th at 7 pm for
the afternoon classes and December 1st at 7 pm for the
morning classes. Blessings!
- Traci

I hope that we can all take the opportunity before us this month to truly reflect upon what we are
thankful for in our lives. The world is in such a rush to jump right from Halloween to Christmas,
but if we fail to dwell with Thanksgiving for a while, we truly miss out. I like Christmas just as
much as (or more than) the next person, but Thanksgiving has a presence all its own. Some
embark on a month-long inventory by naming something different they are thankful for each day
leading up to Thanksgiving. Others make a list on Thanksgiving Day itself, while others go
around the dinner table and name something aloud prior to asking God’s blessing on the meal. Whatever way you
decide to do it, please be sure to be thankful. For God has given us everything—
EVERY THING—we have. See you at church.
Advent begins on Sunday, November 29th. Please join Pastor Doug for a 4-week
Advent study entitled “Three Gifts, One Christ.” We will meet in the fellowship
hall during the Sunday school hour each of the four weeks of Advent. The study
promises to enrich our journey toward Christmas, and help us to be ready to
receive again the gift of the Christ Child. You can sign up in the Friendship
Room by November 15th. The books cost $6 each. I hope you can join us!
Greetings!
The United Methodist Youth Fellowship is off to a great start this fall. The high schoolers have the
opportunity to meet twice a week, Wednesdays for ‘WORD’ and the regular UMYF meeting on Sundays
for a time of fellowship, learning and fun activities. On Sundays, junior high meets from 6:00 to 7:00 pm
and the senior high from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. Alongside our regular meetings, we are also working on the
final details on other events and youth ministry opportunities:
December 11th -12th : Save the date for an incredible Christmas concert that our talented youth are
putting together for you as fundraiser for their upcoming mission trip. The traditional story of Christmas
is reenacted using some of your favorite Christmas carols and some new ones that will leave you filled
with Christmas joy.
January 30th -31st : Don’t miss “The One Event” hosted in Grand Island, Nebraska. It is a fun-filled
opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities, right from listening to biblical messages to
enjoying worship concerts, from group discussions through seminars to a live comedy show. Look out
for more information on the event.
June 18th - 26th : Voila! A mission trip opportunity. A UMYF mission trip has been scheduled to The
Lydia Patterson Institute in beautiful El Paso, Texas. The per-person cost for the trip is $400, but thanks
to the generosity of our Endowment Committee we can reduce the cost; but the final amount will be
determined by the number of participants. Space is limited, and the trip is only open to high schoolers
who have excellent attendance at weekly youth group meetings. Keep looking for more information as
we get closer to the dates. For any further information, please contact Pastor Arun. We look forward to
your participation and for making youth group a place where we can be spiritually charged.

Community Supper
When we wonder if our time is well used, we must remember that we can work
miracles in a twinkling of an eye and not even know it.
God is using us at Community Supper in ways we will never really know, but we do
know we are helping people by providing them a loving meal.
What a rewarding job! Come on down on Thursday afternoons around 3:00PM where
you can have fun cooking and enjoy doing a great service to the community.
