MISSION
Encourage citizen
participation in the
Bethesda Downtown Plan
through enhanced access
to public information and
community support.
CBAR is not anti-development
Public Parks
Public Schools
Transportation
Edge Communities
Excellent parks are required
for livable communities and
to distinguish Bethesda as a
local destination city.
School overcrowding exists
today and will accelerate.
Montgomery County must
retain its reputation for
excellent schools.
Downtown Bethesda roads
and public transit cannot
handle aggressive overdevelopment.
CR zoning is not appropriate
for residential roads.
Heights and densities must
scale down from the core.
Density Tally
35.3 Million
Square Feet
Density Tally, cont.
35.3 Million Square Feet

⬆ 27% density increase over what is currently allowed
⬆ 40% density increase over what's now on the ground
if only 80% of the approved density is built out
⬆ 50% density increase over what's now on the ground
