Ascend Math:
Ascend Math is an online math program. Students will start a lesson by printing out a study paper to use during the online lesson.
There are video clips that show a teacher leading the student through learning the daily objective.
Students complete the work on their printed lesson study paper and complete it alongside the online teacher - then complete an online lesson assessment.
Many of these lessons will be able to be completed indpendantly. However, parents are encouraged to keep track of whether or not the student is
passing off the daily lesson. If a student is not able to pass off the daily lesson, parents are then encouraged to sit with the student and help
the student through the lesson, guiding them to better understand the concept. The lesson test should always be completed indpendantly by the student.

Every Day Counts Math:
Calendar Math program that provides lessons and activities that build math understanding.
Every Day Counts Math (EDCM) will be lead by the parent each day. Teachers's Guides and lesson materials will be provided for use. EDCM is a completely offline program.
Moby Max Fact Fluency
Moby Max Fact Fluency is a basic online flash card program. And will be used anywhere from 1 - 5 days a week to show mastery of facts.
Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division are the basic math facts. Parents will be provided with other math fact resources available
to use, to help students memorize their basic math facts. Students are not expected to use Moby Max solely for fact fleuncy - it is simply the program used
for the tracking of facts mastered. Students are expected to spend 5 minutes per day working on basic math facts.
Mindplay Reading:
Mindplay Reading is a research based, online, adaptive reading curriculum. It is completed 100% indpendantly by the student and is designed
to adapt with each lesson to help the student build on areas of weakness in reading. One of the most intruiging aspects of Mindplay Reading is that it is designed and developed by
professionals in reading development/instruction. When done properly - mindplay reading has proven time and time again to be an extremely effective tool in helping student's
improve reading ability and increase reading levels.
My Reading Street:
My Reading Street is an offline comprehensive reading program that you will lead your stduent through each day. Here is a well written, informative review
I found online: "Reading Street is not just a reading program. It is…a resource for comprehensive coverage of language arts that covers all reading
skills (phonics, fluency, comprehension), vocabulary, spelling, grammar, and composition." Cathy Duffy Reviews

Independent Reading AND Parent Read Aloud/AR Tests
Students will spend time each day reading independantly. Students will be given an AR goal to meet each trimester. Students are encouraged to choose
books on their indpendant reading level. Parents are encouraged to spend time reading aloud to students, using books that are above the student's indpendant
reading level. This will build the student's listening vocabulary, reading comprehension and voice in reading.
Accelerated Reader tests: Accelerated Reader (AR) is an online program that has nearly every book you can think of, loaded into an online system.
Each book has a series of multiple choice questions that will test the students comprehension of the book. Students will enjoy building up their AR points
throughout each trimester. Uintah Online will have goals set for how many points students should have achieved by the end of each tri.

Science - History
Studies Weekly is the publication Uintah Online will be providing students for Science and History content.
We have heard great reviews from a handful of our students who have used this over the last couple years.
Rather than a textbook, Studies Weekly uses more of a "newspaper" format to guide students in learning. Parents will be
guiding their children through the content provided in each weekly "newspaper". There are great articles, crafts and activities
for each week's content. There is also an online component that will incoporate great media files and extras.
Check out their website to read more about the Studies Weekly curriculum.
