to discover how things work around them and learn about good characters
as well as others who may not be so trustworthy. Story-telling is a stimulating activity which helps develop the child’s creativity, imagination and
emotional interaction and it can be so much more fun with these beautifully
embroidered story bags. Here, the bag itself becomes the backdrop to the
story and its contents – relevant finger puppets - help bring the characters
in the story to life, creating excitement and a sense of adventure. These

All oskar&ellen toys are handmade (hand sewn and by sewing machines) by three manufacturers /
sewing studios in Manila in the Philippines. Each studio has approx. 30 employees and all employees
are paid a fair wage imposed by Philippine Law. The working environment and conditions of the
artisans are friendly and they have access to drinking water, fans and toilets. Mobiles are allowed
during work. The continued orders placed by oskar&ellen provides job security and income stability
for the workers at the studios.
Materials
All products are made from cotton, poly cotton, polyester, and rayon, sometimes felt. The fabric is different for each product and is imported to the Philippines from Hong Kong, Korea, Japan and USA.
Safety
Our products, where applicable, adhere to European standards for toy safety – EN 71 1-3 and the
Directive 2009/48/EC– and therefore carry the CE mark. We feel that it is important to stress that
although our products are made of fabric it doesn’t mean that they are suitable for babies. The majority
of the pretend play and activity play bags are suitable from age 3 years and above. The age around
3–6 is an age where the child is enjoying role-play and imaginative play and therefore this is the age
when we believe the child will enjoy our toys the most.
