Supervision is received from the Chief of Police and the Confidential Police Administrative Assistant. EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED Assists the Confidential Police Administrative Assistant in a variety of duties including but not limited to: Function as a receptionist relaying calls, individuals and information to appropriate members of the department as directed. Receives and refers citizen complaints to Administrative Assistant. Disseminate mail and deliveries. Assist with clerical and filing responsibilities. Assist in preparing department reports. Assist with processing cash/check receipt transactions. Assist with processing accounts payable and receivable. Assist with maintaining office and printer supplies. Assist with maintaining department records. Provide backup duties to Records Clerk as necessary. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS Extensive knowledge of business English, punctuation, spelling and arithmetic. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to multi-task efficiently. Ability to take and transcribe oral and recorded dictation/information. Ability to operate ten key calculator and complete data entry with proficiency.
