Tips for Contractors working on Fort Bragg
Designated Safety Representative – 30 hour course required (OSHA 29 CFR
1910 and 29 CFR 1926)
Comprehensive Accident Prevention Plan with Activity Hazard Analyses –
required for all contractors on Post
Automated Installation Entry process – all employees will require AIE passes to
access Fort Bragg. Background checks will be run and those with felony
record will not be allowed passes without waiver (lengthy process).
Effective Quality Control (QC) program critical to success on Fort Bragg.
Contractor responsible for QC not government
Important to submit applications for all Permits early to avoid delays. Typical
permits include: hot work, digging, erosion & sediment control, asbestos/LBP,
confined space entry.
Quality sub-contractors to obtain minimum of 3 competitive bids. Find out who is
performing well on Fort Bragg. Level Playing Field
Pro-active management approach. Learn the key stakeholders to obtain final

Access to Fort Bragg
•  Visitors who do not already possess a valid DoD (Automated
Installation Entry) access card or pass will need to visit the AllAmerican Visitor Center located on All-American Freeway to be
processed for a visitor pass. Passes will be issued for periods
up to 10 days. Visitors must have valid government-issued
identification, valid vehicle registration, and know their Social
Security Number. As part of this process, a National Criminal
Information Center (NCIC) check will be conducted for all
persons. Please plan for the above process to require at least
20 minutes.
