Supports the ‘Earth and Space’ Science programme of study
Learn about William and Caroline Herschel’s remarkable discoveries by exploring their house at 19, New King’s Street, Bath, BA1 2BL.
Watch a film and hear a talk about the wonders of the solar system
including how and why orreries were used (a mechanical model of the planets).
Walk to the world famous No.1 Royal Crescent (10 minutes) and enjoy a hands-on orrery-making workshop in the Servants’ Hall Learning Centre.
The workshop lasts 3 hours and is available on weekday mornings.
£4.50 per student, adults free. Packed lunches can be eaten in the
Learning Centre by arrangement.
