Riley’s Army in conjunction with Winterville Parks & Recreation is holding the 1st Annual “On the Run” with Riley’s
Army 5k Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk sponsored by Winterville Parks & Rec on Saturday, September 8th 2012 at
Winterville Recreation Park.
The 1st Annual “On the Run” with Riley’s Army 5k Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk is designed to raise awareness of
pediatric cancer in our community and lend support to the families of children with cancer.
More than 150 children are diagnosed with cancer every year in Eastern North Carolina. Riley’s Army was
established in April 2008 to raise awareness for pediatric cancer patients and to recruit, train, and provide
volunteers to support with these patients, and their families. We also provide education, meals, prayers, and
other types of assistance. Riley’s Army hosts events throughout the year for families affected by pediatric cancer
in Eastern North Carolina.
Please consider honoring the work that Riley’s Army does by sponsoring in our 5K Run/ 1 Mile Fun Walk.
Sponsorship donations will provide the fiscal resources for the On the Run with Riley’s Army thus allowing all
proceeds from the event to directly benefit programs and services for Eastern Carolina children with cancer and
their families.
