WELCOME
Welcome Amy, new food distribution volunteer.
Trish is taking the extreme coupon shopping challenge, and joins us this month as
a rookie.
Sharing is the greatest gift. May all FISH
volunteers have a blessed month and continue to live in peace, love and abundance.
HOLIDAY DINNERS
The Bridge Community Church of Warrenton delivered
Thanksgiving dinner to 7 Fauquier FISH client families. Thank
you to Sierra, Adrienne and Michelle for coordinating.
Thank you to Warrenton Presbyterian Church who have invited the school supply families that they sponsored to a special
Christmas dinner on December 10, thank you to Beverly for coordinating.
FOOD DISTRIBUTION
FOOD DRIVES
Thank you to Paige and all THE Staff at Airlie Foundation for
collecting food for the food bank. Paige delivered three carts of
groceries November 18 and has pledged a donation of turkeys
for Christmas baskets.
Thank you to local Boy
Scouts again this year for their
annual food
drive.
SCOUTING FOR
FOOD
brought
in a new record breaking donation of 4,044
lbs. of food on November 12. Adrienne and
Boy Scout Troop 92
and Troop 911 along
with a team of family
members worked tirelessly all day to get the food into the food bank and then on to
the shelves. Thank you Adrienne for coordinating.
Thank you to Diane of Foxfire Consulting for a donation of
money and food. Diane led a seminar on gratitude; the fee to
participate was to bring a donation of food for our food bank. A
unique and thoughtful gesture to our community... a message
and a life lesson in itself.
THANK YOU
Thank you to all on our volunteer staff for your dedication and
devotion to Fauquier FISH throughout 2011. It is only with the
generous gift of your time that FISH is able to help the poor in
Fauquier County. We have made such a difference in the lives
of those we help. From helping with school supplies (thanks to
Chrissy for her generous donation of her summer) to helping
with utility bills and prescriptions (thanks to Amee, Lynn W, and
Mindi for all that you do as supervisors) to helping with the food
bank (thanks to Carol W, Michelle, and Elaine who purchase the
food we need to buy) to helping with the holiday food baskets
(thanks to Michelle for all of her hard work and devotion). Of
course thanks again to you all who tirelessly answer the phones
and work food bank distribution. We are known in this community as the organization helping all that ask without question and
as volunteers who give from the heart.
I wish you all a very blessed and happy holiday season and the
very best in the new year.
God bless you and yours.
We are blessed to have so many extras, look for the notes on
the table for specific extras to give out. Make sure there’s a
supply of bags out by the free shelf. Leave a note
if you have a suggestion.
Pick up your volunteer pin at the food bank.
Thanks to Piedmont Press & Graphics for the
design and supply of pins.
Bread donations: look in
freezer #4 and give one or two loaves of
bread to each family, also check fridge #1
for pastries, muffins etc., these are fresh,
give them all way at your session. Thank
you Pablo, Adrienne and the staff at Great
Harvest.
