Islam Seminar Flyer - North Heights Church of Christ

North Heights Church of Christ
Presents
Preparing for Islam, April 29-30
A free two day seminar conducted by Sonny Childs.
Sonny’s first memorable encounters with the Muslim culture occurred while visiting Amman,
Jordan, and various sites within Israel in 1983. On September 11, 2001, he sat in a California
hotel room with his family watching the smoke billowing out of the first trade tower. Convincing
himself that it was just a horrible accident he watched as the second plane hit realizing that
America was under attack. Along with his family,
they wept as they watched the trade towers
collapse sobbing “People are in those buildings,
people are dying right before our eyes!”
From his first encounters in 1983 through the
terrorism of 2001 and his first reading of the
Qur’an in 2008, Sonny was driven to give
Christians a wake-up call to the coming danger
Islam presents to our beloved nation. He was
reminded of the Babylonian conquest of Israel, a
nation God once favored, and questioned to
himself “Could it happen again?”
Please make plans to attend Sonny’s Seminar “Preparing for Islam”. The Seminar will address
five important questions regarding Islam:
1. How did Islam originate?
2. Do we worship the same God?
3. What does their holy book teach?
4. Why are they so violent?
5. How can we reach them with the Gospel?
