Spaghetti and Marshmallow Towers Materials: 1 box of spaghetti per group 1 bag of mini marshmallows Directions: 1. Divide the Children up into groups of 5. 2. Go over structure of shapes: What shapes make a structure stronger and which ones make a structure weaker? If they are building towers to try and get the tallest tower what shapes do they think they should use? 3. Have the groups sketch out, write down or talk about ideas of how they should build their towers. 4. Give each group a bag of marshmallows and a box of spaghetti 5. Allow them to build the tallest tower that they can with these materials. (you can set a time limit for building as a different challenge or let them take until they run out of materials or time) 6.
