NMRA MID SEASON RULE ADUSTMENTS/CLARIFICATIONS
For Immediate Release –
NMRA tech officials have added more transmission options to the approval list, effective
immediately. To address several durability and availability concerns that have plagued
the Coyote Stock class, the following transmissions are now legal:
G-Force G101A, GF4A
Jerico DR4
Liberty LCS500 4-speed
Andrews Transmission A431 H-Pattern 4-speed
The newly added transmissions are required to utilize an H-pattern shifter. The gear ratios
will be limited to similar offerings to the Tremec TKO 500/600 and T-5 transmissions
currently in competition.

NMRA tech officials would also like to remind racers that shifting clutchless is
prohibited. Checks and measures will be utilized, including and not limited to in-car
video cameras, to verify the gear change is done in a conventional and legal manner.
COYOTE STOCK
MANUAL TRANSMISSION
Ford OEM or aftermarket OEM-style transmissions allowed (O.D. not required) and
reverse may be used. Maximum forward gears are four. All gear changes must result
directly from the driver’s foot. Pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, etc. shifters are prohibited.
Floor-shift conversion kits are permitted. Aftermarket shifters are permitted. Clutchless
transmissions are prohibited. Clutch must be used to change gears in a conventional
manner.

TOW VEHICLES
The use of tow vehicles is limited to being towed to the staging lanes but not through the
staging lanes. Tow vehicles must be unhooked at the rear of staging before the race car
can proceed through staging up to the ready line. Vehicles must drive on/off or manually
be pushed on/off the scales.

COOLING SYSTEM
Any Ford OEM or aftermarket radiators permitted and must mount in the factory
location. Complete factory core support is required. Ford OEM or aftermarket water
pump is permitted
UPHOLSTERY
Must have full factory type upholstery, including carpet, door panels, headliner, and
factory dash. Driver’s and passenger’s seats are required and mounted in the stock
location. Aftermarket front seats and door panels are permitted. Rear seat, heater and A/C
controls may be removed.
