The city was founded between 1726 and 1730 and the early European migration
created a cosmopolitan atmosphere that still remains but without the bustle
of a larger city. Located in the estuary of the River Plate and facing the South
Atlantic Ocean, the capital has plenty to offer in the way of picturesque
avenues and promenades, shopping centres and a wealth of restaurants.

Punta del Este is a small coastal village located on the south eastern coast
of Uruguay and an absolute favourite beachside vacation spot for locals from
neighbouring countries. With a coast decorated with white sandy beaches and
a wide array of world class hotels, an assortment of eateries and activities
available, this is one of the most sought after destinations in summer.

COLONIA
By boarding a ferry across the River Plate from Buenos Aires, you can virtually
step back in time with a visit to the enchanting town of Colonia. As its name
suggests, the town of Colonia was once a colony under control of both the
Spanish and the Portuguese during different periods in history. The town is so
historically well preserved, retaining most of its decorative buildings and lined
with cobblestone streets, that it is considered a UNESCO world heritage site.
Visit the streets of Santa Rita, San Gabriel, the Matriz church, the Bastion del
Carmen, the famous Calle de los Suspiros (street of sighs) – which is often used
for historical films - the Puerta del Campo and the Plaza Mayor 25 de Mayo.
