Melbourne International Fee Remission Scholarship to study a Ph.D. in
Finance in Australia based on the outstanding performance at Master’s level in
2004.
4) Scholarship from the Sultan Qaboos University to study M.Sc. in Finance in
the U.S.A., based on the excellent performance at undergraduate level in 1998.

Qaboos University based on academic achievement in high school in 1994.
C4. Teaching Activities:
C4.1. Teaching:
I am very active in teaching at both the undergraduate and the M.B.A. levels. I teach
every semester four to five courses. There is a great demand for the courses that I
teach with an average class size of 40 students. I am also the coordinator of the
Principles of Finance course where we offer more than six sections every semester. I
introduced new courses in finance and I revised and updated many other courses to
make them up-to-date. I received excellent evaluations in the courses that I taught and
my evaluations have always been above both the department and college levels with
excellent reviews from students. In recognition of my commitment to teaching and
learning, I have been awarded the Sultan Qaboos University's Best Teacher Award in

C4.2. Curriculum Development:
I am a member of the Curriculum Committee and I actively participated in the
development of the Curriculum and the introduction of the minors in the College. In
this regard, my selected contributions are as follows:
1) Leading and supervising the development of tracks in the finance major in
March 2015.
2) Heading a committee formed to develop the Master of Accounting and
Finance as a joint degree between the Department of Economics & Finance
and the Department of Accounting in September 2015.
3) Participated in the development of the Bachelor of Science in Financial
Mathematics Degree as a Joint Degree between the College of Economics and
Political Science and the College of Science in 2015.
4) Selected by the Ministry of Higher Education to evaluate the revised program
proposal for the Master of Science in Islamic Banking and Finance proposed
by the Modern College of Business and Science in November 2014
5) Selected by the Vice Chancellor of Dhofar University as an external examiner
to comprehensively review the Accounting and Finance Program in December
2013.
6) Selected by the Ministry of Higher Education to evaluate the new program
proposal for the Bachelor of Banking and Islamic Finance proposed by the
University of Buraimi in June 2013.
7) Selected by the Ministry of Higher Education to evaluate the new program
proposal for the Master of Science in Islamic Banking and Finance proposed
by the Modern College of Business and Science in January 2013.
8) Introduced and designed a new course in Finance called Financial Analysis
and Security Valuation (FINA3351). There is a great demand for this course
from students due to its practical applications in the marketplace.

9) Contributed to the development of the new degree program in the College of
Economics and Political Science in which the categories of ‘minor’ and
‘major’ were introduced for the first time. Specifically, I prepared the
documents for the major and minor in finance.
10) Participated in preparing and designing the Accounting and Finance
curriculum for Sharqiyah University. In particular, I prepared the Finance
curriculum for the University including course selection, course description,
book selection, etc. (2010).
11) Revised and updated many courses in the finance major including
Intermediate Finance (FINA3312) and Capital Structure and Budgeting
(FINA3371).
12) Revised and updated the Managerial Finance (FINA6322) course in the MBA.
13) Selected by the Ministry of Higher Education to evaluate the MBA and the
executive MBA programs curriculum for Waljat College of Applied Sciences.
In particular, I prepared a report that shows the strengths and weakness of the
degree and the ways to improve the curriculum (2008).


I am an advisor for around 40 students per semester from various majors at
both the undergraduate and the MBA level. I am always there for my advisees
to guide them towards meeting their goals and advise them on matters
affecting their studies.

Based on my student advising, and in cooperation with other finance faculty
members, I am responsible for "Course Loading Sheet" for finance major in
the department.

I am in charge of the "Course Authorization" for all finance courses during the
add/drop period.

improving the program in February 2014.
