GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
This form must be signed by all Authors of papers/presentations at the conference listed above in order to transfer
copyright to ISA before the paper can be published. If the paper is prepared for use by or while performing duties for an
employer, then an authorized representative of the employer (other than Author) must sign. If the paper is prepared as part
of the official duties of a U.S. government employee, then no copyright transfer or assignment is made, but an authorized
U.S. government official other than the Author must certify that the material is in the public domain.
All papers/presentations must be written in English, of high technical quality and an original work. Commercialism must
be avoided. Sales presentations and use of brand names in papers/presentations is not permitted.
ISA is not responsible for and will not reimburse any expenses incurred by Author in the preparation or presentation of
the paper, including travel or other expenses for attendance at conference. No royalties or other remuneration will be paid
by ISA for publication or presentation of the paper or presentation.
A paper/presentation not meeting established deadlines and review requirements will not be accepted for publication.
REVIEWS AND COPYRIGHT TRANSFER

Review
Author understands and agrees that the paper/presentation may be submitted to one or more reviewers to be judged for
originality, clarity, completeness, accuracy, usefulness, currency, and other relevant factors. A paper/presentation must
receive a favorable review before it is accepted by ISA.

Originality and Authority
Author assures ISA to the best of his or her knowledge that the paper/presentation is original and will not infringe on any
copyright or proprietary right of another. Author assures ISA that the paper/presentation will contain no scandalous,
libelous, or unlawful material; and will neither endorse nor defame any specific person, firm, or product or service.
Author will not include any formula or instruction in the paper/presentation that may result in injury or property damage if
followed as stated. Author will clearly identify any formula or instruction that may cause harm if not followed properly
and will state the potential hazard and consequences. Author will secure and provide ISA with all necessary government
or employer clearances, if any, regarding the disclosure to the general public of any proprietary or secure technical data.
It is understood and agreed that only the rights of copyright are transferred and that any proprietary rights to any
techniques, patents or inventions, or other matters described in the paper/presentation are retained by the Author. Author
acknowledges that any copyright notices and registrations will be in the name of ISA. Author agrees not to submit the

same or substantially similar paper/presentation to another organization or publisher for presentation or publication unless
or until ISA has declined to publish the paper/presentation.
Author grants ISA the right to use the Author’s name, likeness, and any relevant biographical data in connection with
publication and promotion of the paper/presentation. Additionally, Author grants ISA the right to electronically record the
presentation of the paper/presentation by Author, by audio, video, or other means, and grants, transfers, and assigns to
ISA exclusively all rights, title, and interest, including all rights of copyright, to such electronic record of the
paper/presentation.
ISA grants Author a royalty-free, nonexclusive limited license to use, reproduce, distribute, and prepare derivative works
from all or portions of the paper/presentation on these conditions: a) each copy or use of the paper/presentation includes a
proper notice of ISA’s copyright in this form: © Copyright (year written) Instrument Society of America. All rights
reserved. b) the use or copy of the paper/presentation does not express or imply ISA’s endorsement of any product or
service, and c) no charge or fee is made for any distributed copy of the paper/presentation. This license may not be
sublicensed, and no other publication of the paper/presentation is permitted without the prior written consent of ISA. If the
paper/presentation was prepared under a U.S. Government contract by someone other than a U.S. Government employee,
then ISA also grants the U.S. Government a royalty-free, nonexclusive limited license to reproduce and distribute, and to
sublicense others to reproduce and distribute, all or portions of the paper for purposes related to the contact only under the
same conditions imposed on the Author’s license stated above.
If the paper/presentation is not accepted for publication, then the transfer and assignment of copyright shall be void and
ISA will return the paper/presentation to Author.
Author is an independent contractor and is not an agent or employee of ISA. All references to Author include any CoAuthors and, if the paper/presentation was prepared in the course of Author’s employment, the employer of Author.
Publishing a manuscript in the RMBS proceeding is not intended to prevent the authors from submitting their
more comprehensive work to other refereed journals. The submitting author must state that the work was
partially presented at RMBS.
