SEAMLESS CARE INC. GETS MEDICAL
EQUIPMENT SHIPSHAPE FOR NEW U.S.
NAVY HOSPITAL
Medical Equipment Contractor Completes $28 Million
Project Ahead of Schedule with 100% Turnkey Process
CORONA, CALIFORNIA (March 31, 2014) -- The
new hospital at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton
in California is the newest United States Navy medical
facility. To get the hospital ready for service, Seamless
Care Inc. coordinated the purchase and set up of more
than 13,000 pieces of medical equipment on a tight
schedule of less than a year. The company helped bring
the project in ahead of schedule and the hospital opened
in January 2014.
The $456 million hospital provides emergency, primary,
intensive and specialty care, with 96 outpatient procedure
rooms, 205 exam rooms and 54 patient rooms. It employs
a staff of more than 1,000 physicians, nurses and support
personnel who will serve 70,000 active-duty and veteran
military personnel and their families.
Seamless Care was a subcontractor to the Clark/
McCarthy joint venture construction team. The company
was responsible for an equipment budget of $28,000,000
and handled all aspects of procurement, storage,
installation and preparation for testing.
“I have worked with the folks at Seamless Care for a
number of years and numerous projects,” said Craig
Cherf, Chief Estimator of McCarthy Building Companies,
Inc. “Their efforts and assistance during preconstruction
and budgeting have always proved to be accurate and
helpful. In my mind, Seamless Care is one of the top
companies in their field of work.”
Thanks to Seamless Care’s comprehensive “turnkey”
process, the Navy and general contractors were relieved
of the many time and labor-intensive tasks necessary to
properly equip a large, modern hospital. The company
can assist clients at any stage of a project, from early
building information modeling (BIM) to final notification of
biomedical acceptance of new equipment. It uses stateof-the-art software and proprietary procedures to manage
the medical equipment process and coordinate with the
client, general contractors and vendors.
“For a scope of work of that size, the timeframe was
extremely compressed,” said Ken Ruester, Vice President
of Seamless Care. “But because of our extensive
experience in the fit up process and a newly-developed
software program that we used, we were able to help
finish ahead of schedule.”
The company has worked with several nationally-known
contractors in California and is now expanding to serve
clients across the country.
