Good News Stories
Thank You!
Some bouquets for you, RRA and ADT.
Last Saturday night at 2:30, all hell broke
out when our fence alarm and our house
alarm went off, followed seconds later
with the alarm of the house diagonally at
the back of our property also sounding.
It appears that Rudolph from ADT saw two
suspicious individuals in Slangkop Avenue
and went after them. They managed to
enter our garden and exited it through
the neighbours’ property behind us in
Cooper Avenue. Rudolph lost them but
managed to ‘liberate’ the miscreants’
tools including their crowbar.
Rudolph then arrived at our place and
asked if we were alright AND he came
the following day and asked if he could
help us mend the electric fence where it
had been damaged.
Rudolph is a star and over the years he has looked out for us.
Well done Rudolph.
Thank you too, to Neil Gove who phoned us to give what feedback he could on the
incident.
RRA is to be commended on having the interests of the residents at heart and for
achieving a commendably high level of efficiency. Well done!

Ensure your alarm is in working order before the holidays
Making sure security systems work properly is a very important part of normal home maintenance. December is
traditionally a busy period for security companies and homeowners are urged to test their alarm systems and other
hardware – such as panic buttons and infra-red detectors – at least three weeks before going on holiday.
If the system is not functioning properly it may mean the alarm activation signal is not reaching us. This, in turn, will
prevent us from knowing there is an emergency and that assistance is needed. It is also a possibility that something is
causing false alarms to be generated, which can waste valuable time and resources from responding to real emergencies.
We recommend that you test your system today. If anything out of the ordinary is noted, a technician can be dispatched
to address the problem. Testing your alarm system ahead of the holidays is easy, by following this step-by-step guide:
Step 1
Before testing your alarm please ensure that all windows and doors are properly closed and that the zones on your key
pad are not displaying any red lights. A green light will automatically display next to the READY indicator to show that
your alarm is ready to be armed. If the green light does not display after ensuring all zones are ready, please contact ADT
on 086 12 12 400 to arrange for a technician to visit your premises as soon as possible.
Step 2
Call ADT on 086 12 12 400 and request for your alarm to be placed on test mode for no longer than 15 minutes.
Step 3
Once the green light displays on your ready indicator, you can now enter your user code which will set your alarm to
ARMED (orange light displayed to when it’s active).
Step 4
Activate your alarm via entering one of the zones or by pressing your panic button on the key pad, this should
automatically send a panic signal to our control room who will be aware that your alarm is on test mode (no vehicle will
be dispatched).
Step 5
After the alarm is activated you can turn it off by entering your user code and an SMS will be send to you confirming that
ADT has received a signal from your premises and that everything is in working order.
Please note that if you do not receive a conformation SMS you need to phone ADT on 086 12 12 400 to update your
contact details or to confirm that there was no signal received. In cases where no signal was received, please arrange for
a technician to visit your premises.
