An Event of the Saskatoon WinterShines Festival
IMPORTANT PARTICIPANT INFORMATION
 Participants must have bike with a tire of 3.5” or wider to participate in the White VeloCross High Fat
wave.
 Only Fatbikes allowed on course during 1-2pm pre-ride
 If enough interest an open style wave may be added that would allow any style of bike to participate
following the High Fat wave. Maybe a friend in the High Fat wave would be willing to lend you their bike
. Course maybe altered for the open wave depending on the condition of course. Events maybe
combined if registration numbers are not high enough to have two waves.
 Please be courteous to slower and faster riders – let slower riders know you are wanting to pass and allow
faster riders room to pass where possible. If you need to run some sections try to run beside the track if it
is soft so as to not punch boot holes in the track – running where it is hard packed is fine. Please walk/run
or take the bypasses to any sections that you feel you are not comfortable riding.
 Track crosses and uses portions of the Meewasin Trail. The paved trails and park are not closed to the
other users so be aware of any other trail users and avoid collisions and conflicts. We want to be able to
continue to use the park to host events so please ride responsibly and safely at all times.
 All participants must be an SCA member for insurance purposes
 Washroom and warmup facilities available at Farmers Market. Sign-on may also be held inside at the
Farmers Market if weather conditions are such that it is too cold for outside registration.
 This event is held in cold climates – please dress appropriately for the time and level of exertion you
anticipate for completing the event and warm clothes for when you complete the event
 If temperature is below -20C with wind chills below -30C the event routes maybe shortened or altered or
even cancelled. Excessive snowfall or warm weather may also lead to cancellation of portions of the
event.
 Sign and Pre-ride at 1pm. Event starts at 2pm
 Helmets are mandatory.
