Role Summary
The Stadium Manager is responsible for all operational aspects of the
Millennium Stadium. The Stadium Manager will ensure the safe and cost
effective operation of the venue.
Facilities Manager
Maintenance and Cleaning Manager
Security Manager
Head Groundsman
Events Managers
Lottery & Charity Administrator
The Stadium Manager has full responsibility for all Stadium departments
including; Operations, Facilities, Maintenance, Stewarding, Security, Pitch,
Event Management and Millennium Stadium Tours.

Key Responsibilities, Tasks and
Activities

On behalf of the Millennium Stadium, in consultation with the WRU
Group Executive Board develop and deliver the WRU Group 5 year
Strategic Plan.
Manage all Millennium Stadium departmental event and non event day
activities.
Ensure that the WRU Group is fully compliant regarding its
requirements under health, safety and environmental legislation and
codes of practice.
Manage the Millennium Stadium (and any other properties owned by
the WRU Group as appropriate) in relation to the pitch, facilities and
maintenance and formulate, manage and deliver CAPEX and revenue
budgets accordingly.
Manage the security operations of the Millennium Stadium on both
event and non event days including managing all accreditation and

staffing levels (including stewarding teams and external security
agencies as appropriate).
Liaise with external sporting bodies, concert promoters, and other event
owners to provide services for the delivery of third party events,
In conjunction with the Head of Sales and Marketing maximise the
commercial opportunities of the Millennium Stadium regarding the
viability of planned and proposed events.
Liaise with the Millennium Stadiums official caterer in respect of all
safety and service delivery matters relating to their stadium operations.
Hold the ‘Stadium General Safety Certificate’ issued under the Safety of
Sports Grounds Act 1975 responsible for;
o Liaison with the Sports Grounds Safety Authority,
Safety Advisory Group and Stadium Events Liaison Group
o Liaison with Welsh Assembly Government, Cardiff County
Council and all emergency services
o Liaison with external bodies in respect of all VIP Visits.
o Ensuring that the MS plc is compliant with all requirements of
its ‘General Safety Certificate’.
o Leading on and co-ordinating all event day activities, ensuring
that delivery is compliant with the Stadium Operations Manual.
Ensure that the Millennium Stadium is compliant with the Fire
Regulatory Act 2005.
Act as the Designated Premises Supervisor in accord with the Premises
Licence issued under the Licensing Act 2003 responsible for compliance
with all licensing requirements.
Responsible for the performance and conduct of a team of direct
reports (identified above), in line with the WRU Group Policies and
Procedures.
Undertake any other duties as directed by the Line Manager
Carry out all duties to help support the WRU/MS mission statement in
line with the Company’s core values.

courses and research to enhance personal knowledge, skills and
experience.

Minimum of 5 years experience as a Stadium Manager, or similar role
desirable.
Minimum of 5 years experience of leading and managing a multi
functional department at a senior level including project and event
management.
Proven experience of devising, implementing and delivering key
objectives strategically as part of a multi-disciplined management team.
A minimum of 5 years project management experience, liaising and
coordinating with external and internal customers to deliver results
professionally, efficiently and within budget restraints.
Experience of managing and delivering CAPEX and revenue budgets.

Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
Project management qualification, PRINCE(2) or equivalent
advantageous.
NVQ Level 4 Spectator Safety Management qualification desirable.
NEBOSCH qualification desirable or alternative H&S qualification.
Be prepared to hold: Personal Licence under Licensing Act and SIA
Security Manager Licence, subject to disclosure and DBS checks.
Excellent presentation skills
Excellent IT Skills, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
