Can you weigh on an uneven surface?
The scale is meant to be used an even, hard and flat surface. Weighing on an uneven
surface, such as carpeting will alter the results.
Can you weigh with socks on?
The Easy@Home Bluetooth scale is meant to be used with bare feet. This device
uses BIA (Bioelectrical impedance Analysis) making the results more accurate.
Human body fat cannot be conductive, but muscle and water are good conductors.
The device has sensors that is conducted through your feet. It measures human body
biochemical impedance to calculate the composition of the human body. Weighing
with socks on will only calculate weight.
Does the scale need recalibration? When is it recommended to recalibrate?
Anytime you use the scale for the first time or replace the batteries or move the
location, a recalibration should be performed for accurate weight reading. The
recalibration procedure is:
Simply step on the scale for a few seconds, then step down. Then wait until the
display screen goes off. Typically a couple of times this procedure are needed.
Once it is done, it should remain calibrated until the batteries are replaced or
location is changed.
Why won’t my Bluetooth scale pair with the app downloaded onto my device?
The Bluetooth is the key feature of Easy@Home CF351BT and CF350BT scale that
differentiate this scale from many other body fat scales. By using this feature, the
scale can pair and connect to the App automatically without complex IP
configuration.
There are several possible reasons the scale won’t pair with the App on your mobile
devices.
- Bluetooth is not turned on the mobile device. Please make sure that the
Bluetooth is on.

- Make sure to download the “EasyHomeScale” app and setup your profile
before weighting. The device cannot pair to the Bluetooth if the app is not
open. So, make sure that the App is open when step on the scale.
- Follow the user guide for profile set-up. Be sure to select “Body Fat Scale”
on the profile page for scale. If you the alternate option, “Bathroom scale”,
Bluetooth option will not pair.
- Some other Bluetooth device is connecting to the iPhone or other mobile
device. Bluetooth on the mobile device can be paired by only one device at
any time. If you have a Bluetooth headset or other devices connecting to
your the mobile device right now, the scale's Bluetooth won't be able to
connect to the mobile device's Bluetooth at same time. So, make sure that no
other Bluetooth device connects to the mobile device first.
- If user has multiple devices that have the "EasyHomeScale" App installed,
user should make sure only to open the App on one device at any time.
Otherwise, when the user steps on the scale, the Bluetooth on the scale will
pair and connect to only one of the devices randomly. Other devices won't
get the data.
- If user finishes taking one measurement and want to take another
measurement again immediately, please wait a few seconds to make sure
that LCD screen on the screen goes off. In this way, the Bluetooth
connection from the first measurement will be properly disconnected.
The Android device may ask you to pair, enter “0000” when the scale try to pair.
What are some things that cause inconsistent readings?
Inconsistent readings are usually caused by user error. Some helpful ways to avoid
this is:
- Make sure the scale is placed on a hard, flat and even floor
- Make sure that battery is operational.
- Make sure your scale has been re-calibrated

- Try to weigh at the same time of day every time you weigh. You weigh will
fluctuate throughout the day. Weighing first thing in the morning before
breakfast is preferred, because you weight will be the lowest.
- Not standing straight will shift your weight from weighing’s. Standing straight
ahead and balance will provide a more accurate reading
Can dry feet effect weighing parameters?
If you weigh and the App only display weight and BMI, dry feet may be the culprit
for very small percentage of people. Moisture in your feet are needed to be
conductive to pick up BIA. We found if you damp the bottoms of your feet with a
damped cloth or paper towel, the moisture will conduct with the sensors and collect
all data parameters.
Can the scale sync up the date online or export data?
You can export the data collected by the scale from "EasyHomeScale" App. To do
that in the current version of App, You can tap any data on the main page and enter
into the Graph or List page, the link for exporting data is at the upper right corner of
this page. You can select the data and choose the way for sharing: Facebook, Twitter,
email, SMS, etc.
As far as sync up the data online, the scale connects and sends data to App via
Bluetooth direct connection. The user can export data from App. This model of scale
itself is not WiFi type. So, itself won't connect or sync up the data online directly.
The advantage of Bluetooth type is that it adopts the latest technology an ease for
setting up; seamless connection and data transmission between the scale
and app immediately without complicated IP configuration.
Our software engineering team are working hard to improve the "EasyHomeScale"
App so that it will be able to upload the data online to the sites such as
myfitnesspal.com.
Are batteries included?
A newly purchase scale comes with new AA batteries included. Make sure you use
batteries that are operable. Also, follow the + and – when placing batteries into the
unit and are properly in place. The backing should be placed back on before use.

What is ITO Top?
The ITO glass top is a tempered glass top with ITO coated layers. ITO stands for
Indium tin oxide, which is a solid solution of indium oxide and tin oxide. ITO layers
allow excellent electrical conductivity as well as transparency. The working
mechanism for the body fat scale is that the scale sends a weak bio-electric current
through the body to measure parameters such as body fat. Conductive material must
be on top of the scale for this process to work. Most body fat scales on the market
use metal panels on the surface of the scale for this purpose. This CF351BT Body
fat scale uses more advanced ITO coating on glass top to take the place of normal
metal panels. The benefit is obvious: it is a total piece of smooth glass that looks
beautiful and your feet also feel better while standing on it. More importantly, with
this ITO top, there is a bigger contact area between your feet and the conductive
layer than that of normal metal panels. The higher sensitivity and bigger contacting
area ensure the reliable parameter reading for body fat and other measurements. For
the most other body fat scale using the metal panel, for some small percentage of
people who have very dry feet, scale may not be able to collect parameters such as
body fat because of contacting issue. This issue won't happen on this CF351BT Scale
thanks to the advanced ITO technology
What are the 8 parameters that the scale measure?
1. Weight:Body Weight;
2. Body Fat:Body Fat in Percentage is the total mass of fat divided by total body
mass; body fat includes essential body fat and storage body fat. The body fat
percentage is a measure of fitness level, since it is the only body measurement
which directly calculates a person's relative body composition without regard to
height or weight.
3. Bone:Bone Mass indicates the amount of bone mineral (calcium or other
minerals) level in the body. Bone Mass in percentage is the Bone Mass divided
by the total Body Mass. Research has shown that exercise and the development
of muscle tissue are related to stronger, healthier bones. While bone structure is
unlikely to make noticeable changes in a short period, it is important that you
develop and maintain healthy bones by having a balanced diet and plenty of
exercise. People worried about bone disease should consult their physician.
People who suffer from osteoporosis or low bone densities due to advanced age,

young age, pregnancy, hormonal treatment or other causes, may not get
accurate estimations of their bone mass.
Muscle Mass:By definition, muscle mass is the actual weight of the muscle in
your body. The muscle mass includes the skeletal muscles, smooth muscles
(such as cardiac and digestive muscles) and the water contained in these
muscles. Muscle Mass in percentage is the Muscle Mass divided by the total
Body Mass. Muscles play an important role as they act as an engine in
consuming energy. As your muscle mass increase, your energy consumption
increases helping you reduce excess body fat levels and lose weight in a healthy
way.
Body Water:Total Body Water Percentage is the total amount of water in a
person’s body expressed as a percentage of their total weight. Water plays a
vital role in many of the body’s processes and is found in every cell, tissue and
organ.
Maintaining a healthy total body water percentage will ensure the body
functions efficiently and will reduce the risk of developing associated health
problems
BMR:Your Basal Metabolic Rate(BMR) is the minimum level of energy your
body needs when at rest to function effectively including your respiratory and
circulatory organs, neural system, liver, kidneys, and other organs. You burn
calories when sleeping. About 70% of calories consumed every day are used for
your basal metabolism. In addition, energy is used when doing any kind of
activity however; the more vigorous the activity is the more calories are burned.
This is because skeletal muscle (which accounts for approximately 40% of your
body weight) acts as your metabolic engine and uses a large amount of energy.
Your basal metabolism is greatly affected by the quantity of muscles you have,
therefore increasing your muscle mass will help increase your basal metabolism.
By studying healthy individuals, scientists have found that as people age, their
metabolic rate changes. Basal metabolism rises as a child matures. After a peak
at the age of 16 or 17, it typically starts to decrease gradually. Having a higher
basal metabolism will increase the number of calories used and help to decrease
the amount of body fat. A low basal metabolic rate will make it harder to lose
body fat and overall weight.
BMI:Body Mass Index (BMI) is a number calculated from a person's weight
and height. BMI provides a reliable indicator of body fatness for most people and

is used to screen for weight categories that may lead to health problems.
8. Visceral Fat:indicates the rating of visceral fat in your body. Visceral fat is the
fat that is in the internal abdominal cavity, surrounding the vital organs in the
trunk (abdominal) area. Research shows that even if your weight and body fat
remains constant, as you get older the distribution of fat changes and is more
likely to shift to the trunk area especially post menopause. Ensuring you, have
healthy levels of visceral fat my reduce the risk of certain diseases such as heart
disease, high blood pressure, and the onset of type 2 diabetes.
