Course Description




Theater 2 (Advanced Theatre)
Theatre 2 will introduce the student to the elements of design and
empower them with the industry standards for Theater design.
The objectives of this course will ask the students to delve deeper
into their imaginations and critical thinking skills.
It will create a well of knowledge that the students can drink from as
often as they like and develop a forward thinking process that will
enhance their communication skills, both verbally and non-verbally.
Grading:
Student’s grade will be comprised of the following with the following Weights:

Grading Scale
Semester grades will be awarded on a percent scale as follow:
100-94% = A
76-74% = C
93-90% = A73-70% = C89-87% = B+
69-67% = D+
86-84% = B
68-64% = D
83-80% = B 63-60% = D79-77% = C+

Begin Researching 1940’s and World War II
[The music the fashion and the architecture]

Design a Representational look of Radio City Music Hall’s interior in 1940’s
Week 7- Sept. 28th-Oct. 2nd
Work on costume and set/scenic designs for Radio City Music Hall and 1940’s
Week 8- October 5th-9th
Complete designs of Radio City Music Hall and 1940’s Costumes
Week 9- October 12th-16th
Read- Crucible
Begin new Representational designs “The Crucible”
Assign scenes students must memorize and act out the scenes as well as design
the set and costumes for this scene
Week 10- October 19th-23rd
Continue design and acting
Research papers -the Salem Witch Trials and the McCarthy Trials
Week 11- October 26th-30th
