Summer 2017
RSVP Gathering Place Groundbreaking
RSVP began a new chapter in its history
April 10, 2017 with a formal groundbreaking
ceremony for a new RSVP Bridge to the Future.
This project represents a unique public/
private partnership and a culmination of over a
decade of planning to create a facility we have
never before had in this county which will serve
as a Gathering Place for healthy aging to all
Marshall County seniors. It will offer Mind,
Body, Spirit and Community opportunities
through classes and activities to transition seniors with talents and skills learned over a lifetime into retirement, the next phase of their
lives.
The complex will cost about $2 million and
over the past 10 years, RSVP has raised $1 million in building funds. RSVP is kicking off a
capital fundraising campaign to raise the remainder of the construction cost $1 million. There are naming options from $5,000 to
$500,000 to name a room or even the building
for a local company or in honor or memory of a
community person.
Donate your IRA required minimum distribution (RMD) Tax-Free to RSVP. A donation
counts as your RMD, but doesn’t increase your
adjusted gross income. The money needs to be transferred directly from the IRA to RSVP in order to be
tax-free. Ask your broker.
Your tax deductible gift will raise the building,
touching countless lives - young and old for generations to come. Make a one-time gift or pledge for 3
years. No gift is too small. If you prefer to remain
anonymous, we will honor that request. Once you
donate look at the building plan and decide which
window or door you are buying and then every time
you drive by the building, point with pride to your
piece of the Gathering Place. Mail donations
to: Marshall County RSVP, 1805 Gunter Avenue,
Guntersville, Alabama 35976 or call 256-571-7734
about naming a room. RSVP needs everyone to help
us reach the campaign goal.
