Dingwall English teachers no/know that their pupils understand
homophones. Its/it’s just that, at times they struggle to get it
right/write. Sometimes there/they’re/their are to/too/two many
homophones four/for them to/too/two remember. If only they
new/knew that they could check/cheque them in the dictionary
too/two/to make sure there/they’re/their correct. English
teachers get bored/board of correcting these mistakes and it
takes sew/so much time/thyme.
Now it’s your turn!
• Heading back to classrooms you are going to take on
one final activity.
• The passage below needs some homophones. Can you
figure out which ones?
• The marathon runners moved through/threw the
gate/gait and out onto the road/rode. As the early
morning missed/mist came down like a vale/veil over
the town, they were last seen going passed/past the
local counsel/council chambers before they
disappeared from view.
