1 Introduction
This EV Board enables measurement of air pressure. EV Board equipped with 1 barometric
sensor board and a PC is required for air pressure measurement.
Current and the change
in air pressure can be measured by the application.

2 Preparation
2.1 Installation of the application
Installation of the application.
1, Start set up wizard by double clicking “SetupPressureSensorEvalTool_v1.0.3E.msi”

2, Install the application by following the instructions. Click “close” when installation is
completed.

*Caution
When un-installing the application, follow the below procedure.
1, From “start menu” – “control panel” – “program” – select and click “uninstall program”

2, Select and double click “PressureSensorEvalTool”. Follow the instruction on the screen
and uninstall the application. Confirm that “PressureSensorEvalTool”is deleted

2.2 Installation of the USB driver
Installation of the USB driver
1, Run “CDM20600.exe”and install the USB driver. Installation will be done automatically.
2.3 Connection of Barometric Sensor Board and EVB
Connect the Barometric Pressure Sensor board to EVB as below. In case of noise problem,
please do not use the connecting code longer than 30cm.

*Caution
Length of connecting code should be shorter than our recommend, in case of usage
environment.
“REF” terminal is used for internal purpose. For demo usage, there is no need to connect.
Please take caution not to short circuit with the through-hold when soldering the PIN to each
terminal. (Refer to the Fig 7 picture)

3 Starting and closing the application
3.1 Connection of the Evaluation Board and PC
Below is the set up instruction for connecting the EVB via USB Cable. Install USB driver
and add device. Check the COM port number which will be used by the application.
1, Slide the switch to “ON”
2, Connect EVB to PC via USB, below Fig.8 will be displayed. Device will be added. Fig.9 will
be displayed after completion.

3, Check the COM port number for the device by Clicking “Control Panel” then
“System and Security” → “Device Manager”

4, Check port number by clicking ”Port(COM and LPT)” then ”USB Serial Port”.(Fig.12
Example shows COM5). This port number is used when starting up the application.

3.2 Starting the application
Start the application once after setting up the connection of the evaluation board has
finished.
If the COM port number is uncertain, please refer to 3.1
1. Double click the icon of “PressureSensorEvalTool”on the desktop, or choose from
“START” Menu ”All program” → “muRata Applications” → “PressureSensorEvalTool” ,
click and activate the application.
2. Select the COM port number and press「CONNECT」

3. Once the connection of the EV Board is established, the measurement will be possible.
Measurement will begin by clicking “START”.

3.3 How to stop
To finish the measurement, first click the ×(Close) button, right above the screen
(Fig.16), then remove the USB cable.

4 How to operate
4.1 Evaluation board switch
There is a slide switch on the evaluation board. Slide the switch to “ON” to activate the EV
Board.

4.2 Application screen
Fig.18 shows the application screen. From the screen, the result of barometric
pressure sensor measurement is showed.

4, Result settings
Set the unit in graphs and display.
“Pa” Radio button
:Sets the unit as “Pa” in graph and display

5, Graph range setting
Set the range in graph and display.

: Set the first measurement data as “center value”

6, Logging settings
Change settings of measurement data logging.

:Enables logging of measurement data into file
File selection dialog will appear when the file is not
specified

File name display and edit box :Shows the path of the specified file

7, START and STOP button
START and STOP button for pressure measurement

8, Displays the measurement result
Display the measurement result both in graph and numerical reading.
It also displays the temperature measurement result.

5 Bluetooth mode
This EVB has Bluetooth wireless mode. Please mount the ZEAL-C02 Bluetooth module as Fig.20.
When you start the Bluetooth mode, connect the potable USB battle to EVB and turn on the
SW1 with pushing the SW2. When the LED turns on, the EVB will start the wireless
communication mode.

*Caution
Please do not mount the Bluetooth module upside down.
6 Trouble shooting
・If the output waveform does not appear, check if the evaluation board and USB are firmly
connected. Also check if the USB drive is installed.
