In 2009
87% of the available supply of fish in Israel was dependent on imports. In addition, a high
IDR was found for beef, as well as for pulses, and oilseeds and nuts.
32% of the supply of oil and fats, and 26% of the supply of vegetables, fruit, and potatoes
was imported.
In contrast, Israel produced approximately 100% of the available supply of poultry and
turkey, and the IDR for milk and dairy products was only 6%.
The Import Dependency Ratio of sugar, sweets and honey is 162%.
