WELCOME BACK COMPUTER WORKSHOP SHUFFLEBOARD

 NOVEMBER 2015 WELCOME BACK
To our "FOY FAMILY" we are
looking forward to another wonderful,
fun filled winter here at the best resort
in the southwest. We have activities
for everyone and even for those who
aren't all that active.
We start off the season full time in
November, and we want to start on the
right foot. Please be aware of the Spa
rules, treat your neighbors with
respect and kindness and be prepared
to meet so many new friends you'll
have to double your Christmas card
list.
Speaking of Activities, please respect
the Hall times that you or your group
is allocated. If you are scheduled from
2 pm. to 4 p.m. that means you
START at 2 not 1 :55 to set up, and if
you end at 4 p.m. you should be OUT
of the hall at 4 pm. Stop your activity
in time to do this and make it an easier
transition for the next group.
The 2015/2016 season This season we
will have many activities that are
geared toward remembering the last
50 years of this wonderful resort. We
are bringing in some outstanding
NEW shows that will enhance your
stay and bring high class
entertainment to the spa. Every year
(season) we and the management have
endeavored to make your stay here at
the FOY as pleasant and enjoyable as
possible. If you have constructive
suggestions, please do not hesitate to
let us know.

RED HATS
Pickleball is a court sport best
described as half way between tennis
and ping-pong. The sport is played by
people all across North America.
Many seniors have taken up the sport
in their retirement years but it is also
played by thousands of school
children and top athletes in their 20’s
and 30’s. It is an easy sport to learn
and most everyone can play the game
just after a short time of hitting the
ball back and forth across the net.
Come out to the tennis courts at 10:30
each day to learn and enjoy the game
of Pickleball. Equipment is available
for you to use for free.
Are you looking for FUN and
FRIENDSHIP? Join the ladies of the
Chocolate Mountain Chicks RED
HATS. A purple notebook in the Craft
Room has the monthly schedule. Sign

Can you believe another summer has
flown by and it is time to start the 50th

get ready. As with every year we are
looking for volunteers to assist with
this monthly event. We only have 4 a
season, always the first Saturday of
the month in December, January,
Feburary and March. We need help
with prep, setting up, cooking and
clean-up. Also looking for someone
that would be willing to clean the
grills after the breakfast. Believe it or
not, those of us that have been up
since 5am are pooped by 10am and
would love some great people that
could do clean-up. If you would like
to volunteer, please drop a note at Post

will get in touch with you. We are still
planning on the same great menu….

eat, no leftovers for FIDO or breakfast

NOVEMBER SHOW
Coming for a special November 8th
show here at FOY
Singer-songwriter Katie Dahl
has performed her original songs
everywhere from the dusty cliff
country of Mali, West Africa, to the
winding canals of southern France, to
the cedar forests of the American
northwoods. The depth and power of
Katie's alto voice, the literate candor
of her original songs, and the easy
humor of her live performances have
earned her numerous songwriting
awards, as well as the chance to share
stages with some of America's most
respected songwriters, including Dar
Williams, Peter Mulvey, and Cheryl
Wheeler. Her song "Crowns" spent
three months on the folk radio charts
in 2015, including one month at #1.
Katie is also a playwright whose
musical Victory Farm has since been
made into a live cast album. Mike
Fischer of the Milwaukee JournalSentinel writes that Katie Dahl
"combine[s] old-fashioned populism,
an abiding love of the land, and
wickedly smart love songs, all
delivered in a rich and expressive
alto."
