1) Select a Term, and select either Summer I 2017, Summer II 2017, or Fall

2) Then click Credit because these courses are credit-bearing courses.
3) Then click Select a Subject. Scroll down to Modern Languages:

NOTE HOW ALL OF THE ABOVE-MENTIONED COURSES WILL BE
OFFERED IN THE FALL OF 2017 (the fall semester will begin the week
of September 6).

PLEASE NOTE THAT in summer session I (May 30-June 29), the
following courses will be offered.
1) Beginning American Sign Language I—One face-to-face section will be
offered on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at our
Brockton campus (PLEASE NOTE THE TIME IS DIFFERENT THAN MOST
DAY COURSES).
2) Beginning American Sign Language II—One face-to-face section will be
offered during the day at our Middleboro campus.
3) Beginning French I—One face-to-face section will be offered during the
day at our Brockton campus, as well as one online section.
4) Beginning Spanish I—Two face-to-face sections will be offered, one
during the day and one in the evening, both in Brockton, as well as two
online courses.
5) Beginning Spanish II—One face-to-face section will be offered during the
day at Massasoit’s Middleboro campus, as well as one online section.

PLEASE NOTE THAT in summer session II (July 10-August 10) the following
courses will be offered:
1) Beginning American Sign Language II—One face-to-face section will be
offered on Mondays and Wednesdays in Brockton from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00
p.m. (PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS TIME IS DIFFERENT FROM MOST DAY
COURSES).
2) Beginning French II—One online section will be offered.
3) Beginning Spanish II --Two face-to-face sections will be offered in
Brockton, one during the day and one during the evening, as well as one
online section.


For example, if one interested in taking Beginning French I in the first
summer session, please click on Modern Language-French.
You will see (from left to right)
1) The CRN (course registration number)
2) The course and section number
3) The campus location on which the course is being offered (or online)
4) The status of the course (open or closed)
5) The building and room number
6) The start and end time for the class
7) The start and end dates for the course
8) The add/drop deadline (PLEASE NOTE THAT FOR SUMMER COURSES
IT IS A VERY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME).
9) The instructor’s name
10) The number of credits (all modern language courses are three-credit
courses)
11) The (text)book--click on Details for title, cost, etc.
12) Any course fees (this applies mainly to online classes)

Massasoit has no formal language placement test.

However, it is possible, for example, for one to register for Beginning
Arabic II, Beginning Cape Verdean Creole II, Beginning French II, Beginning
Portuguese II, Beginning American Sign Language II, and/or Beginning
French II even if one has not completed the prerequisite (first-semester)
course here at Massasoit.

A student would need to obtain a prerequisite waiver form. An explanation
of prerequisite waiver forms can be found in the next document.
