We focus on your type 2b muscle fibers. Anytime you make an explosive movement you are
recruiting these muscle fibers and putting them to work. We train fast, and we train explosive down

The picture below to the left is me as a sophomore in high school and the picture to the right is me
after my senior year of high school. (Yes, I doubled my vertical jump during that time. Going
from 21 inches to 40 inches.)

Trust me. It is an AMAZING feeling to have over a 40 inch vertical jump and be able to instantly
grab the attention of any athlete, spectator, or coach in the gym with one dunk.
It took me 2 years to gain over 20 inches on my vertical jump. My vertical increased so quickly that I
was actually getting pains on the bottoms of my feet because I wasn't used to landing for such high
heights. (I wish I was making that up)
I have obtained an extraordinary vertical jump, and tens
of thousands of my athletes have added over 10,000 total
inches to theirs by following my simple training strategies.
You see, I am pretty lucky that I learned how important jumping higher was before it was too late. I

It’s Time to Take Action
In Video 1 I showed you 3 exercises that you can do to fire up your central nervous system and get
your FAST TWITCH muscle fibers firing.
Before you go out to the gym, your garage, or your deck in your backyard (that’s where it all
started for me), I want to give you the details of these exercises so we are 100% CLEAR.
Clover Jumps are my favorite exercise of the three for a couple of reasons. First off, it’s unique and
you really work your core by having to keep it braced and staying tall. Secondly, this exercise will
INSTANTLY wake up your central nervous system and give you that explosive, “I feel like I can fly”
feeling. You know how sometimes you feel like you can jump through the roof, and other times you
can’t jump worth a crap? Well the reason for that is you weren’t properly firing up your central
nervous system.
Why We Are Doing This Exercise: EXPLOSION! I am going to drill this into your brain until it’s
there for good… If you want to be quick off the ground and be able to jump higher, then you MUST
train explosively!
Reminders: This WILL NOT WORK if land, gather yourself and then jump. As soon as you hit the
ground it’s VITAL that you pop your ankles and explode over the next cone. Pretend like the ground
is burning hot and if you are there too long you’ll burn yourself.
Sets/Reps: Today – 3 sets of 3 times around (1 time around is going one full time around the circle
of 4 cones.
Horizontal Power Leaps are similar to the Clover Jumps, but with these we only focus on the side to
side movement. I like these exercises because they quickly wake up my jumping muscles. It is
important to note that we are not landing, gathering ourself and jumping again. Keep a slight bend
to your knees and use your ankles to pop back to the other side right as you hit the ground.
Why We Are Doing This Exercise: EXPLOSION! I am going to repeat this until you 100% believe
in it… If you want to be quick off the ground and be able to jump higher, then you MUST train
explosively!
Reminders: Get off the ground QUICKLY! We are trying to prime our central nervous system and
get those type 2b muscle fibers firing. Training slow is a waste of your time. Get out of your comfort
zone and really focus on getting off the ground as quickly as possible.
Sets/Reps: Today – 3 sets of 20 (10 Each Side)
WARNING: There is a 96.7% chance that you will make an hilarious face while doing this exercise.
Guys, keep away from the girls on this one ;). With the Rapid Fire 2 Step we kick it into 5th gear. You
need to get back and forth over this line and quickly as humanly possible. I have a lot of athletes
who move in slow motion (obviously they can’t jump high), and I get them doing this exercise to
wake up their Central Nervous system.
Why We Are Doing This Exercise: We want to wake up our central nervous system and get our
fast twitch muscles firing.
Reminders: Go as fast as humanly possible, and KEEP YOUR CORE TIGHT. We need a stable upper
body to allow our legs to move as efficiently and as swiftly as possible forward and back on the line.
Sets/Reps: Today – 3 sets of 20 second Blasts!
Now TAKE ACTION.
