Rod Pump Challenges in The Eagle Ford Shale:
• Deviation caused wear and tear on tubing
• Paraffin and H2S increased chemical expense
• Pad drilling and workovers
• Capital Intensive Program: AFE 350K
Accelerated artificial lift team was asked to evaluate and
make recommendations for hydraulic jet pumps that
may replace the operator’s current form of artificial lift.
After reviewing all of the wells, Accelerated selected 165
HP Natural Gas Drive Power Fluid Pumping Units with
2.375” jet pumps to be installed. Other components were
chosen based on each well’s individual characteristics and
problems. By varying each well’s downhole equipment
configuration, all of the challenges faced were addressed.
Gas Lift Challenges in The Eagle Ford Shale:
• Paraffin: Cooling effect due to gas injection
• Chemical was not reaching the bottom
• Compressor run times were short
• High tubing pressures

Easy port for chemical application of corrosion inhibitor or H2S applications
Temperature on wells was maintained to prevent paraffin deposition
Multiple wells (jets) powered by a single pumping unit, which reduced capital needs
