1. What are magic truffles?
With this e-book about truffles we want to introduce you to our magic truffles.
Magic truffles are purely natural products that create beautiful experiences for
those who consume them. After reading this first section you will know what
magic truffles are, why they’re so special, what the effects are and what types

1.1 The product
Magic mushrooms and truffles are often confused. Truffles are actually the
underground product of different types of mushrooms. Magic Truffles give the
user an unforgettable spiritual experience. The active substance in magic
truffles is psilocybin, the same as in mushrooms.
Magic truffles contain psychoactive substances that create a
changing perception for the user. You’ll perceive things around you
differently and more intense. In some cases, hallucinations are part of the
experience. The use of truffles result in a feeling of euphoria and ecstasy. For
many people it is a profound spiritual experience in
which brilliant inspiration and ideas are born. The use of magic truffles
is perfectly legal, as opposed to what other people think. Also nothing is
known about adverse long-term consequences. Truffles can be eaten with
confidence.
The use of hallucinogens is centuries old. The earliest images
of such hallucinogenic mushrooms in the world can be found in the
Sahara desert. It is estimated that these images are around 8000 years of
age. The idea that the use of hallucinogens must have been a source of
inspiration for the pictures is not new. Research on these images showed that

1.2 The active ingredient
Psilocybin is the active ingredient in magic truffles. The same substance is
also found in mushrooms. Psilocybin is produced by dozens of different
fungi. The structural formula of the substance is as follows:

There are many people who consider the
substance as an entheogen. This literally means ‘from the God in
ourselves’, and this term is used for psychoactive substances that are used
in a spiritual context. How long and how intense an entheogen works
depends on many factors, such as the amount someone takes and
the mood and environment someone is in.
When consuming the substance our body turns psilocybin into psilocin. Psilocin
affects different receptors in the brain. The substance is present in different

types of mushrooms and magic truffles.
The toxicity of psilocybin is not large. It is not known whether it is possible that
people can take a lethal dose of the psilocybin. There are no cases reported of
people deceased after consuming the substance.
1.3 The effects
What can we say about how truffles effect your brain? It’s a fact that the
effect depends on various factors such as the mood and the
general wellbeing of the user. Also, the amount of food in the stomach is a
factor. Someone who has just eaten will have a lighter impact than someone
who takes truffles on an empty stomach. There are
some shared experiences such as:
• An intense experience of colour, sound and feel
• A feeling of happiness and contentment
• Laughter
• Abnormal sensory perceptions
After taking the truffles, it usually takes about 45 minutes before the first
effects kick in. Pupils become wider, colours are more intense and people see
patterns on walls and ceilings. You will experience music more intense. If you
close your eyes you will often perceive patterns. In some cases you can even
control the patterns you see.
Although the trip in most cases lasts for 4 to 6 hours, the user often perceives
it as much longer. This is because the truffles also affect the sense of
time. When the truffle stops working is over you will be amazed at the effect.
Generally it is difficult to exactly describe the effects of truffles. It has big
influence on your thinking and it's just not easy to explain it in a few words to
someone who has not had the experience.

1.4 Different truffles
Over the years we’ve learned how to grow different types of magic truffles who
all have a slightly different effect. The difference is caused by the amount of
active ingredient, which slightly fluctuates.
Let see what different truffles we have in our assortment. We’ll describe
shortly where the magic truffles come from and what effects they have. The
truffles are sorted starting with the mildest and the last, the psilocybe
Hollandia, is our strongest truffle.
Psylocybe Mexicana
These truffles are rooted in a sacred
mushroom of Mexico (Oaxaca). In
1958 it was discovered by mycologist
R. Gordon Wasson. Albert Hofmann
later studied the truffle and he found
a way to grow.
This truffle has the mildest effect of
truffles in our range. The main effects
are mild euphoric, cheerful mood and
a sharpened perception. The active
substance is the same as other truffle
species, psilocybin.

Psilocybe Pajaritos
Literarily Pajaritos is Mexican for
"little bird". This refers to the effect it
has on people: after using the magic
truffle you feel like a bird. Your
thoughts are merrily fluttering
around.
The Psilocybe Pajaritos is a truffle that
is slightly stronger than Mexicana. In
terms of quantity of active substance
you can compare it with the magic
truffle Tampanensis. The trip is usually
relaxed and cheerful. Some users
report mild hallucinations.
Psilocybe Tampanensis
In 1977 the Tampanensis was first
found in nature. Dr.. Steven Pollock
discovered the truffle in Tampa,
Florida. Hence the name
Tampanensis. A little later, around
1978, it was the mycologist Paul
Stamets who found a way to grow the
Tampanensis. The first Philosopher's
Stone was born. Other types of magic
truffles have similar effects. It
depends on the mood and
environment of the user.

Psilocybe Atlantis
The Atlantis was discovered in Fulton
County, Georgia. The truffles have a
taste and smell which many people
find more attractive than other magic
truffles. Atlantis is slightly less strong
than the Hollandia. Yet, the Atlantis
has enough active ingredient for a
stunning visual experience.
Psilocybe Hollandia
This is the strongest in our range. It
contains the most psilocybin. The
chance of visual experience is the
biggest. For someone who has no
experience in the use of magic truffles
it might be wiser to start with a lighter
type of truffle. If you still curious
about the effect of the Hollandia you
can best start with a half portion.

2. How to use magic truffles?
If you want to get to know magic truffles and are curious of what they can give
you it is off course good to know how to use magic truffles. After this we’ll give
you some tips on how to prepare for use and how to keep it a pleasurable
experience. This chapter ends with some important notes about when NOT to
use magic truffles.
2.1 Ways to consume the magic truffles
There are mainly two different ways to consume magic truffles. You can eat
them or you can make a tea. If you decide to eat the truffles you taste the
flavour better. For optimum effect, you have to chew well. Chewing causes the
psilocybin, the active ingredient in magic truffle, to release. If the truffle is
properly crunched you should swallow. Usually it will take up 45 minutes
before the first effects are noticeable. Some people may experience a light
stomach ache just after they swallowed the truffles. Don’t worry, this is a
perfectly normal side effect that disappears when the psilocybin starts working.
Another way to consume truffles is by making tea. Because the magic truffles
have such a distinct taste some people prefer to make tea. To make tea you
with magic truffles you first have to boil some water in a pan. When the water
is boiling, take it off the heat. Cut the magic truffles in little pieces and put
them in the water. Heat your tea again but do not make the water boil again.
When it’s too hot the active ingredient is broken down. After 15 minutes your
tea is ready to be filtered. You can add some honey if you want to make it taste
better.

2.2 Using magic truffles: preparation
Taking magic truffles is quite an experience. It is something you should do
unplanned. To make sure your experience is a pleasant one it is wise to prepare
yourself. In this section we want to give you some tips on how to use magic
truffles.
The experiences of people who enjoy a trip with magic truffles vary
widely. Some people find the experience unforgettable, positive and negative
way. You want the negative experience of course as much as possible. The
environment in which you take the magic truffles has a major influence on the
feeling during the trip.
In general one can say that the surroundings should be familiar. The
environment must be safe and must feel comfortable. If you’re using magic
truffles for the first time your own home is by far the best place to be. Most
people are at ease in their own home. You can also choose go out. At least stay
away from the busy city. The many unfamiliar sounds and impressions can
create feeling of discomfort during the trip.
You can stimulate a pleasurable experience in the days before the trip to fill
your mind with pleasant images and sounds. You do this by watching some

movies, reading books or listening to music. This can make your trip even more
fascinating.
2.3 Are there any risks?
Using magic truffles is harmless to your mind and body. There are no real
dangers. You shouldn’t take magic truffles in combination with drugs or
alcohol. This can enhance the effect of magic truffles and that can be
dangerous.
Some people who take magic truffles report feelings of panic and anxiety. This
is called a bad trip. A bad trip is off course not what you want. We have a few
tips for you to help prevent a bad trip.
A bad trip is what the name already says. The impressions you get when you
eat magic truffles can be overwhelming. If people who use magic truffles have
feelings of panic or anxiety it’s called a bad trip. There are some things you can
do to avoid getting into a bad trip:
Use only magic truffles if you're comfortable. Do not take truffles if you're
down or have concerns. Magic Truffles enhance your mood. It is not true that
you can make a bad feeling go away by using magic truffles. When you’re not
sure about taking the truffles, don’t do it.
Be in a trusted environment. Feelings of panic and anxiety may be enhanced if
you are in an environment where you get much unexpected impressions. The
probability of a bad trip is much greater if you're in a busy shopping street. It is
best to take magic truffles at home, in the presence of people you trust.
Make sure someone is present who remains sober, a so called sitter. This
person can set you at ease when they do go wrong.
If despite a good preparation you end up in a bad trip you can do the following:
A bad trip is caused by negative thoughts. Try to make negative thoughts go
away by thinking of positive things.
If your negative feelings come from your environment try to influence it
positively. Are you in a dark room, make sure you have good lighting. A hot

room can also enhance the bad trip. Provide cooling by opening a window and
drink a glass of ice cold water.
A bad trip is never fun. But through these tips to heart you prevent it
happening. It is meant to be a fun and memorable experience.
2.4 Use responsibly
Over the years, several studies on the dangers of using magic truffles health.
There are no studies showing that the substance is dangerous.
Dutch research has shown that the substance is not associated with physical or
mental dependence. Acute toxicity is confined to the small risk of a panic or
anxiety attack. The conclusion of the study is that the active substance is not a
threat to public health.
A potential danger lies in an external factor. There have been cases of truffles
that are not cultivated in a good way. The quality is not good enough and that
can be dangerous. People who want to use truffles should buy them from a
reliable source that uses a responsible breeding process.
If you are going to take truffles it is wise to remember some things. The effects
of the truffles is not harmful but you shouldn’t take it in combination with
drugs, medication or alcohol. These combinations can enhance the effect. This
can result in an unpleasant experience.

3. Are magic truffles legal?
Before we dig in to the legal issues concerning magic truffles we first want to
make something very clear: Magic Truffles are not harmful for your health and
it’s completely legal to buy, sell, possess and use magic truffles.
3.1 The ban on magic mushrooms
Some people might be confused because the active ingredient in magic truffles
is the same as in magic mushrooms. Magic mushrooms are illegal in the
Netherlands since December 1st 2008. The ban was caused by a few incidents
involving tourists in Amsterdam. The ban is controversial because there is not a
single study that prove magic mushrooms are harmful. All the incidents in
Amsterdam involved people who had been using the mushrooms in
combination with other drugs and alcohol.

3.2 Magic truffles are legal
Whilst the mushrooms are banned magic truffles are still legal. The reason why
magic truffles haven’t been banned is because their a bid milder then
mushrooms. A study from 2002 conducted by The Food and Consumer Product
Safety Authority (in Dutch: Voedsel en Waren Autoriteit) showed that the
amount of psilocin in the Psilocybine Tampanensis was about 0.3%. The
mushrooms that were studied had between 0.5% and 0.9% of active ingredient.

Because of this significant difference minster Klink decided not to ban the
magic truffle.
In the past there have been several studies on the long term effects of the
active ingredient psilocin. All these studies showed that taking magic truffles is
harmless and is not addictive.
The following quote is from a study that has been conducted by the Dutch
government:
“The use of hallucinogenic mushrooms (paddo's) poses such a low risk for the
health of the individual and for society that prohibiting their use would appear
to be a disproportionately grave measure in relation to the nuisance and
damage caused by their current use. This is the conclusion reached by the Coordination Centre for Assessment and Monitoring of new drugs (CAM) in an
assessment commissioned by the the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and
Sport (VWS).”
It’s somewhat strange that a product that has proven to be safe and not
addictive still gets banned. Luckily, we have magic truffles. Our truffles are a
