ABA Executive Board Meeting in Gallerie 1 with George Hudson
It has been a great pleasure to work at this tournament and to serve the ABA. Chief Director
Mary Duncan along with directors Andrew Echols, Kenny Vernon, Ida Sims, Shirley Wilson, Lela Okolo,
and Tony Lawson did an AWESOME job during this tournament. Special thanks to Gloria M. LeeRay
for her excellent skills in TSS and getting the scores to me so I could get them to you. Hopefully the
directors will not be short-handed in the Spring. Thanks to Gladys Johnson and Clara Berryhill for
assisting when the table count exploded. Maxine and Larry were also “on it” as usual. Our three
caddies, Jade, Trey, and Violet were very courteous and worked hard to during the team games and
afterwards. (What would we do without grandchildren?)
As the new administration begins their term of office in January, may the ABA continue to
grow, flourish and maintain its status as a viable African-American organization. Our historical status
really needs to be recognized and applauded by all. SEE YOU IN ORLANDO!

The article in the Flash on 8/5 complimenting Mary Duncan was refreshing. Mary has
always been an outstanding professional in responding to the needs of the ABA;
