Serfs Get New Protection Laws
People all over Gildsburg are lining
up to receive the new Serf Protection Law.
This new law will grant serfs and villeins
the right to work on a Lord’s piece of land,
but for a hefty price. Anyone can be leased
this new contract with it’s extreme conditions.
If you live in Gildsburg and have purchased this, here is what you might expect.
You can expect your Lord to give you two
meals a day for five days of strenuous labor
in his land. You must also pay the Lord each
year six shillings and give him threequarters of your annual harvest. But this
might be short lived for the deadly Black
Death Plague (see page two) has swamped

soon as possible if you are in line to receive
this contract!

Black Death Kills Millions
One week ago today the first out
break of the Black Death was reported in
Allendale, England. Now the Black Death
has found its way to our town of Gildsburg, England. The disease has already
killed millions and is expected to kill thousands more by the time it reaches Terrysville, England.
If you or a family member is suffering from any of the following symptoms
please contact a priest or doctor immediately: high fever, rapid pulse, headache,
body aches, and weakness. These symptoms will appear in one to eight days and if
not treated immediately the chances of surviving are against all odds.
“I was scared for my life,” says
Chris “when I saw a man walk into the local pub with bumps over his body and
week.”
Another woman, named Ashley
says, “My youngest daughter started
coughing and feeling weak one day and we
didn’t know what to do. We are to poor to
afford any kind of doctor and with my husband dead three years there is no way of
getting her out of the house.”
Mike of Gildsburg age eight tells
us, “Yes I saw my little sister pass on. It’s
really sad because she was only just a baby
and had this infection for only two days
before she died. Our prayers go out to her
tonight and we hope she feels better now.”

Dear Helga,
Q: My crops are not growing like they used to. They wilt
just before it is time to reap the rewards of my hard work. What
should I do?
°°
A: Well there really is not much you can do. With the times
what they are and the water shortage you will just need to wait for
the water to come back and the weather patterns to change

Q: I’m middle class and am gaining enough money to buy a
house almost as big as a castle. Before I purchase this estate, is castle life all that it’s cracked up to be?
A: Yes and no. Castle life is sweet because you get a big
house to your self and a beautiful estate, but you have to send
knights and it’s a hassle to keep up with. The sole purpose of a castle is to defend the town and surrounding areas, so you may not be
able to purchase it.
