SCOPE
OF THE
CONFERENCE
The purpose of this Conference is to provide an interactive forum for a multidisciplinary discussion on
the science and technology of surface-related phenomena for all materials. Both experimental and
theoretical aspects which highlight, develop and
utilise approaches to understand and improve
surface phenomena have been sought. The
conference will provide a forum for presenting the
latest advances by research workers and engineers
from industry, academia and research laboratories.
Emphasis will be placed on real world applications.
MAIN TOPICS
The conference will concentrate on 4 major topics
(which will result in 4 symposia):
A- N ATURE, E N V I R O N M E N T AND S U R F A C E S

C- EMERGENT/A DVANCED I NDUSTRIAL A PPLICATIONS
D- ARTS AND SURFACES
Oral contributions will be first welcomed in these fields.
This, however, does not exclude s u b m i s s i o n
dealing with, e.g.:

- Wear - Laser processing - PVD & CVD processes
- Applications of advanced coatings in air craft/aerospace,
automobile, marine & electronics industries - Non
destructive testing.

FOR
PAPERS - ABSTRACTS
Any delegate wishing to present a paper must send (by
email (preferred, as an attached file) or mail, a short
abstract (150-200 words) to the conference secretariat
as soon as possible. The deadline for receiving abstracts
is 1 February 2007. Abstracts have to be submitted in
English and typed in single-line spacing using Times 12 pt
type style and should be headed with the title, name(s)
and affiliation(s) of all authors. Authors will be
notified of the acceptance of their paper(s) by
1 March 2007, along with instructions for the manuscript.
FULL-LENGTH PAPERS - PROCEEDINGS
Guidelines and all relevant information are to be available
on the website.
Full-length papers will be requested by 15 May 2007
and refereed papers presented at the conference
will be published in a proceedings volume in early 2008.
When sending their full-length papers, authors have
to send their registration fees.

Size : 0.90 m (width) x 1.20 m (height)
Special efforts wil be given to promote the poster session.
