21 Sept 16 newsletter - Drayton Green Primary School

22nd September 2016
Dear Parents and Carers
We hope that the new weekly newsletter on a Thursday will continue to help improve communication.
Mrs Doherty is away for a few days due to an unplanned hospital stay, she is looking forward to being
back with us on Monday. In her absence please do not hesitate in seeing one of us if we can be of any
assistance.
Parent/Teacher Meetings - These meetings should last for approximately 30 minutes. They will be
held in your child’s classroom at 3:30pm. If your child is in ARP and integrates into another class
please attend both meetings.
These meetings are very important – please make every effort to attend.

Jeans for Genes Day - this is tomorrow! Children can come in jeans and bring £1 to donate to this
worthwhile charity.
Macmillan Coffee Morning-there will be coffee mornings all over the country next Friday to raise
money for cancer research and support. We would like to open the dining hall to any parents who
would like a meeting place to share cakes and raise money. Please let the office know if you would like
to come!
Birthdays- a reminder that on your child's birthday they can wear their own clothes to school. Please
do not bring sweets or cakes to school as we will not be able to give them out. Thank you!
Earrings- stud earrings are the only earrings allowed at school. Your child should not wear earrings on
the day that they have PE. If your child has recently had their ears pierced their earrings can be taped
until enough time has passed for them to be removed on the days they have PE. Nasty injuries can be
caused by earrings and we must do all we can to avoid this. Thank you for your co-operation.
