Paymaster Report
The Paymaster report for June 2014 includes Income of 139.00 which includes dues and Clothing Sales.
Our Current Balance is $3,204.49. The total expended was $277.44. The expenses were dues,
Sweatshirts, a Poster and the Corporals Course Dinner. The Scholarship Account Balance is $1,591.81.

Business
After Action
• Veterans Freedom Music Festival – Event went pretty well except others thought the
Marines were a working party. This will have to be straightened out next year.
Gysgt Barrett will be our Rep. next year.
• CSG Torch Run. – Went very well. The runners maintained their formation and
looked sharp.
INCOMING!
Fremont Parade 7/13 @ 1330. Fremont requested a presence by our
Detachment. NOT marching. Mingling or riding in a vehicle?
• Eagle Daze Parade. 7/19 @ 1530. We will also have a food stand. Hamburgers, Buns,
Chip and Drink for $5. Set up booth at 1000. Kevin Ricky to make a poster. Pegler
and others to make donations.
o POC Lyman
• Air Show at Offutt – Blue Angels 7/19-20
o Fat Albert Truck. No formal presence by Detachment. Free Gate.
• Omaha Memorial/Dedication7/26 @ 1700
o Charlies or Polos/Nice Attire
• Fleet Reserve invite/get together
o VFW Steak Night 3rd Friday of August. (8/15)
o We were invited to participate to get to know other Vets.

STANDBY! (future activities)
• Cemetery plots - The Detachment was willed a block of Cemetery plots at
Wyuka Cemetery. They are ours to sell. Now is the time to move on this. This
will generate funds for the Detachment. Nate is taking initial leadership on this.
We will probably list them on “Craig’s List”.
• Dying Marine
o We were asked to provide assistance to a dying Marine
o Who wants to be buried in Dress Blues. Uniform has been located. Some
sewing remains. Need to verify he is a Marine
DOWNRANGE! (Future – FYI)
• Purple Heart Benefit 8/16 @1600 – Deer Springs Winery
o There will be a Barrel of wine. No other drinks – can’t bring in your own?
• CSG Mud Run 8/23 @ 0900.
o Got head count – many will help. Some work will be done in advance – see
Dave. The rest of us will get our assignments on the spot. Remember – No
harassing the participants. No helping them over the obstacles either.
o Good Behavior
• Department of Nebraska MCL Mission in GI 9/13-14 – Later

• State Fair Recon – 8/22 – 9/1.
o Check it out for possible Marine presence at next years fair. (Grand Island –
Go at the end of the week. – See Dave)
• Oct 17-19 Midwest Division Fall Conference in St. Louis
o Coming event. If we make enough money, we will consider renting a van and
maybe being able to help with lodging expenses.

• Big Red Challenge Team This will be a BIG project. The goal is to build and operate an
Obstacle Course (smaller scale than Boot Camp ed.) Overall it will include procuring
land, design, and construction. Then operating the course for events to be scheduled.
These events may have a potentially national attendance. A civilian group is planning
this and we will be involved in it.
• Bulldog newsletter
o An important goal of the Detachment is to better communicate with our
members. We have maybe 12 members that don’t have computer access and
email. We need to build a process that lets the Detachment use multiple
means of access.
o To facilitate this, we need all members to get their street address, Phone
Numbers, and email addresses to the Detachment. If you don’t periodically
get any emails – we probably don’t have the address. Send them to
[email protected]
• Squad leaders update roster information (The Squad Leaders will take the lead
in obtaining this information.)
• New Business
o Perkins Restaurant will sign u\s up for a full month kickback – share of
monies spent at our benefit. We will have to sign up and get cards for
identification. We can give them to anyone we know.
o Motion mad and approved to participate.

Shon Olson and Shelly Roberge received the Distinguished Service award for
their work at Beaver Crossing for Tornado Cleanup.
Kevin Barret and Kevin Rickey received Distinguish Service awards for their
work supporting the MCL.
