GREEN TEA BENEFITS
Weight Loss. Green tea increases the metabolism. The polyphenol found in green tea
works to intensify levels of fat oxidation and the rate at which your body turns food into
calories.14
Heart Disease. Scientists believe green tea works on the lining of blood vessels,
helping keep them to stay relaxed and better able to withstand changes in blood
pressure. It may also protect against the formation of clots, which are the primary cause
of heart attacks.25
Diabetes. Green tea is believed to help regulate glucose levels slowing the rise of
blood sugar after eating. This can prevent high insulin spikes which may result in less
fat storage. 22, 23, 24
MORINGA BENEFITS
Vitamins and Minerals. Moringa leaves are an excellent source of many vitamins and
minerals. One cup of fresh, chopped leaves (21 grams) contains the following:
• Protein: 2 grams
• Vitamin B6: 19% of the RDA
• Vitamin C: 12% of the RDA
• Iron: 11% of the RDA
• Riboflavin (B2): 11% of the RDA
• Vitamin A (from beta-carotene): 9% of the RDA
• Magnesium: 8% of the RDA
Esophageal, Breast and other Cancer. Green tea has been shown to be supportive
of Breast Health. It can reduce the risk of esophageal cancer, but it is also widely
thought to kill cancer cells in general without damaging the healthy tissue around
them.12
A Rich Nutritional Profile. Moringa leaves are loaded with vitamins, minerals,
essential amino acids, and more. One hundred grams of dry moringa leaf contains:
• 9 times the protein of yogurt
• 10 times the vitamin A of carrots
• 15 times the potassium of bananas
• 17 times the calcium of milk
• 12 times the vitamin C of oranges
• 25 times the iron of spinach
Cholesterol. Green tea helps reduce bad cholesterol (LDL) in the blood which
improves the ratio of good cholesterol to bad cholesterol.13
Rich in Antioxidants. The leaves of the Moringa Oleifera tree have been reported to
demonstrate antioxidant activity due to its high amount of polyphenols.
Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. It is said to delay the deterioration caused by
Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Multiple studies show that the catechin compounds in
green tea can have various protective effects on neurons in test tubes and animal
models, potentially lowering the risk of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.15, 16
Moringa Oleifera extracts of both mature and tender leaves exhibit strong antioxidant
activity against free radicals, prevent oxidative damage to major biomolecules, and give
significant protection against oxidative damage.
Skincare. Green tea is believed to help with wrinkles and the signs of aging, this is
because of their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. Both animal and human
studies have demonstrated that green tea applied topically can reduce sun damage.28, 29
Tooth Decay. Studies suggest that the chemical antioxidant “catechin” in green tea
may inhibit the growth of bacteria and some viruses, like streptococcus mutans, that
cause plaque formation and throat infections, bad breath and other dental
conditions.17,18, 19, 20, 21
Depression. L-Theanine is an amino acid naturally found in tea leaves. It is this
substance that is thought to provide a relaxing and tranquilizing effect and be a great
benefit to tea drinkers.26, 27
Antiviral and Antibacterial. Tea catechins are strong antibacterial and antiviral agents
which make them effective for treating everything from influenza to cancer. In some
studies green tea has been shown to inhibit the spread of many diseases.17
High levels of free radicals cause oxidative stress, which may contribute to chronic
diseases like heart disease and type 2 diabetes.3,4
Further, in a study of women taking 1.5 teaspoons of moringa leaf powder daily for
three months, blood levels of antioxidants increased significantly.1,2
Anti-Inflammatory. Moringa leaves, pods and seeds have been shown to have
anti-inflammatory properties.5
Both animal and human studies have shown that Moringa Oleifera may have similar
cholesterol-lowering effects.6
Inhibit Cancer Cell Growth. The entire Moringa Oleifera tree, including its seeds,
leaves, bark, and roots contain compounds, like niaziminin, which have been shown to
inhibit cancer cell growth.7
PUBLISHED STUDY OF GREEN TEA FOR HPV
Green tea extract, called sinecatechins, is an effective treatment for external genital and
anal warts, according to the results of a controlled study.
Genital and anal warts are caused by human papillomavirus (HPV).
Researchers assigned over 500 adults with 30 warts to either sinecatechins ointment or
a placebo. In the sinecatechins groups, warts cleared completely in roughly 57 percent
of patients, compared to just 34 percent of subjects in the control group.8,9
The catechins in green tea are thought to have anti-inflammatory activity by COX-1 and
COX-2 inhibition, leukotriene inhibition, and nitric oxide synthetase activity. Green tea
flavonoids might also reduce lipoprotein oxidation, reduce proliferation of vascular
smooth muscle and inhibit the release of arachidonic acid from platelets.

It’s more than just drinking the tea that treats the cancerous cells. According to one
study published in the European Journal of Cancer Prevention, treatment for cervical
dysplasia (precancerous tissue) was studied with the use of EGCG and another extract
from green tea, Poly E. What did the treatment include? Taking EGCG extract
supplements and applying the EGCG directly into the vagina to reach the cervix.
Women receiving the treatment had a 69% positive response rate in comparison with a
10% response rate in untreated controls.
The story doesn’t end there. EGCG has also been found to reduce the viral activity of
human papillomavirus (HPV). A recent study found that the EGCG extract both killed
the cancer cell growth and helped stop the HPV virus. Why is this important? According
to the CDC, virtually all cervical cancer is caused by HPV. Basically, EGCG is helping
reduce the cancer and stopping the cause of the cancerous changes.10
