What are we learning
about this term?
This term we will be continuing our topic on
the Tudors. Before Christmas we looked at
the historical timeline and when the Tudor
period was. We learnt about the Tudor
Monarchs. This half term we will be writing
a recount about the Battle of Bosworth. We
will be making the Tudor rose and creating
Tudor houses. We will also be finding out
about Henry 8th and his wives, Tudor
clothing, schools and how children lived,
what houses and streets were like, the
difference between rich and poor, William
Morgan and Welsh Bible.
In our Literacy sessions we will be starting
with one of my favourite books – The Tear
Thief. The children will be doing some
creative writing. We then move onto nonchronological reports and the children will
be writing their own report about Tudor
clothing.
In Numeracy sessions some of the areas we
will be looking at are fractions of shapes and
numbers, addition and subtraction, money,
division and multiplication, measuring skills
and lots of problem solving activities.
