Samantha`s Excelerate Experience

Our Experience at EXCELERATE
Samantha's Parents say
We chose to do the Excelerate
V2 Program because....
We like the philosophy of the school,
the colourful and wonderful facilities and also because of Pika
and Joanne. We met up to discuss about Samantha and we
felt they were both are very genuine professionals and would
be able to help. They actually made sense and were able to explain Samantha’s
behaviour. This is such a godsend as her previous teachers could not help us. The
school environment is also something that I would like my child to be immersed in.
Samantha’s Achilles’ heel is language so it also made sense to send her to a school
helmed by speech therapists.
What we like most about the Excelerate V2 Program is....
Samantha has no choice but to participate in her lessons and has no chance to zone out
compared to her previous school. The teachers also understand the children so the
parents do not get the usual complaints from conventional schools. Things like “Your
child is not listening in class”, etc. We also love all her teachers.
We find the Excelerate V2 Program to be unique in the following ways...
Frankly this is our first experience at a “specialised” school, but what we can see is that
Samantha loves school and always has a happy face. She was not smiling at her
previous school.
What we would tell our friends about the Excelerate V.2 Program...
We love Excelerate and wish we could have sent Samantha even
earlier.
Personal commentary...
Samantha has shown significant improvement since attending
Excelerate. She is able to say things like “Bye mummy”, when I drop her
off at school. This is something that she has not been able to do before.
Another ‘first’, is her ability to establish eye contact with her teachers as
they know the technique of bringing that out. She hardly ever gave eye
contact with her previous teachers. Now she is required to give eye
contact and say good bye to her teachers at Excelerate.
Excelerate also gives weekly updates on Samantha so I know what she
has been up to at school. Samantha is not able to tell me what she does
in school most of the time so those updates really help us to engage
her.
It is not cheap to attend school at Excelerate but we firmly
believe that the money is well spent.
