Language Learning Center @ UD How to record your mp3 file You will need Audacity, this software is installed in all computers at the LLC. If you want to use your own PC, make sure your PC or MAC has a working microphone. Download to your computer and install it. Download also the following encoder: lame mp3 When you have finished downloading LAME, unzip it and save the file to you computer. Once you open Audacity, you will see the screen below. Play Record Pause Stop Once you hit the RECORD button, Audacity will display a graph of your voice. Important: If you need to make a pause while recording, use the PAUSE button. To continue recording, click on the PAUSE button again. Do not use the STOP button because it will create different recording tracks. Once you are ready, click the STOP button. You will be able now to listen to your recording. Language Learning Center @ UD The next step is to save your recording as an mp3 file 1. Click on FILE 2. Choose EXPORT AS MP3 3. Then save the mp3 file to your desktop: Ex. Smith_FrenchPE2007.mp3 Ask your instructor how to name the file for your specific assignment. Language Learning Center @ UD · IF YOU ARE USING AN LLC PC, the next screen you will see is the one at the bottom of the page Edit the ID3 tags for your MP3. · IF THIS IS THE FIRST USE IN YOUR PC: The first time you use the “Export as mp3” command, Audacity will ask you to locate the saved lame_enc.dll. Answer YES. Find the file and Click OPEN Leave the following window blank and Click OK Language Learning Center @ UD 4. Go to you desktop and open your mp3 file to check it 5. Submit your files or files according to the instructions given. 6. Close Audacity Note: You already saved the mp3 file.
