When Disaster Strikes: The Pre-Hospital Response Tornado Response On November 06, 2005, disaster struck the Tri-State area when an F3 tornado touched down in Vanderburgh and Warrick Counties. Deaconess Hospital treated 49 patients injured in this natural disaster. Twenty-four patients were admitted, with 12 patients going to the intensive care units. Seven patients required surgery in the first 24 hours after the tornado hit. Twenty-two patients were treated and released from the Deaconess Emergency Department.
