describing. Certain words or combinations of words can
make the reader feel sad, cheerful, or even angry.
2. Rhythm – is the feel or beat of a poem.
3. Stanzas – are major sections of a poem. The lines in a
stanza are arranged in a way that looks and sounds
pleasing.
4. Alliteration – is the repetition of the same initial consonant
sound.
5. Punctuation – can make a poem sound short and choppy
or long and flowing. The poet may use no punctuation at
all.
6. Rhyme – is the repetition of the same sound, usually at the
end of two or more lines.
