A NEWSLETTER FOR THE LANSING CO-OPERATIVE NURSERY SCHOOL COMMUNITY News from the Staff Family Night—Thursday May 26th, (5:00pm—6:30pm). Come for dinner and join your child at school, for a fun evening in their classroom. Spring Clean-up Day: On Sat. May 7th, one adult member from each family in the Co-operative, is required to participate in the twice-a-year clean-up of the interior and exterior of the school and grounds. Space Available for Nursery School (9:00-11:45): Get ready for Nursery School, a unique program with a creative curriculum that is child-directed, hands-on and fun! Please contact Gina directly if you are interested. May 2016 In this edition: Butterflies: In the month of May, the children will be involved in a special science project about “The Life Cycle of a Butterfly”. The children will observe 30 live caterpillars transform to butterflies. The caterpillars will arrive in the school during the week of May 11th . FUNDRAISING Silent Auction, May 24-26. Wonderful items, prizes and GC's will be on display in the Foyer in the last 2 weeks of May. Bids close on Family Night, May 26@ 6pm. The school would like to purchases enhancement for new Preschool Program, if you would like to donate to this project you can donate online now. Thank you for your ongoing support. Farm Trip (Nursery and Preschool) Wednesday June 1st—Round the Bend Farm is a working family farm. They provide hands on activities, students learn about animals, plants, soil, bees, and more. Website: www.roundthebendfarm.com Please note that we leave Lansing at 9:15am and return at 2:30pm. The children will have an opportunity to experience life in the 1800’s at this historic farmhouse. FUNDRAISING Thursday, May 26, from 56:30pm, we are having our biggest fundraiser of the year, our Family Night! Aside from being a time to meet together as a school, you may enjoy a variety of activities with your child. The event will showcase: 1) an Art Sale - your child's art may be available for purchase. 2) a Silent Auction - we are still accepting donation of services, GCs , new toys. Please get your cheques ready so you may bid on a fabulous item! Jokes for Kids Q: What did the pencil say to the other pencil? A: you’re looking sharp. Q: Why don't skeletons fight each other? A: They don't have the guts. 3) Pizza Dinner - please preorder/ send back your forms by May 24th. 4) Crafts & activities for your child & their siblings. Please remember to mark this day on your calendar! Currently, we have raised $4,200, which is so close to our goal of $7,500! We need your help to cross the finish line.
