Instructions for Qualatex Sweet Valentine Surprise ® To keep assembly time to a minimum, gather the materials and read through the instructions before beginning. Materials: 1 43" (109cm) “Sweet Day Candy Gumball” Microclear™ Shape 27438 4 11" (28cm) “Valentine's Circles & Hearts” Ruby Red Latex Balloons 10153 9 5" (13cm) Red Latex Balloons 43599 1 ea. 5" Lime Green, Robin's Egg Blue, & Purple Violet Latex Balloons 48954, 82683, & 82697 1 5" “Smile Face” Yellow Latex Balloon 39270 1 646Q Diamond Clear Latex Balloon 75459 Qualatex BalloonRibbon™ Balloon Straw Sand Weight Instructions: 1. Air inflate four 11" “Valentine's Circles & Hearts” latex and size them to 8" (20cm). Make a 4-balloon cluster (see “4-Balloon Cluster” below) and tie the sand weight to the bottom of the cluster. Set aside. 2. Make another 4-balloon cluster with 5" Red latex sized to 4" (10cm). Tie this cluster onto the cluster from Step 1, rotating it 45 degrees so it nests. Set the completed base aside. 3. Make a Gumball with the Diamond Clear 646Q. To do this, use a balloon straw to stuff an uninflated 5" latex inside the uninflated 646Q and hold the necks even. Air inflate the 646Q until it’s about ½ full. While holding the 646Q neck closed, air inflate the 5" and tie its neck. Trim the excess neck. Insert another 5" latex into the neck of the 646Q, pushing the first 5" latex inside. Continue inflating and inserting the remaining 5" latex except for four 5" Red. If you need to, add more air to the 646Q as you’re stuffing it. When you’re done adding balloons, inflate the 646Q, leaving 1" (2.5cm) uninflated, and tie it. NOTE: The 5" “Smile Face” latex in the 646Q Gumball may not face the front of the design as shown. 4. Tie the knot end of the 646Q into the base from Step 2. 5. Inflate the remaining 5" Red latex to 4" and make a 4-balloon cluster. Tie this cluster onto the uninflated end of the 646Q. 6. Helium inflate the 43" Shape. Place a piece of BalloonRibbon across its tail, roll up the tail, and tie it. Use the ribbon to tie the Shape into the cluster from Step 5. Trim the excess ribbon. 4-Balloon Cluster 1. Inflate and size two balloons, then tie the necks together. Repeat to make a second pair, then twist the two pairs together to make a 4-balloon cluster. TIPS • Change the 11" latex in the base to a coordinating print or solid color, and use this design for birthdays or “just because.” • Show it to sell it!
