ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: READ THIS MANUAL CAREFULLY AND THOROUGHLY BEFORE ASSEMBLING AND OPERATING THE STRING RELEASE TRAP. MAKE SURE ALL OPERATORS READ AND UNDERSTAND OWNER’S/OPERATOR’S MANUAL.
BASE ASSEMBLY
1. Place 5/16-18x1” hex bolt upward thru front hole in rear
leg section and place matching left hand hole in front
leg section over bolt. *NOTE: If the target thrower is to be
mounted on a tire, the front leg should be reversed and
horizontal. See diagram at right and on page 5 !
2. Place corner hole of support leg over bolt and apply 5/16
lock washer and 5/16-18 hex nut. Place two 5/16 x 3/4”
bolts upward thru remaining two holes and apply 5/16
lock washers and 5/16-18 nuts. Tighten with wrench.
3. Place eye bolt in small hole of rear leg. Apply 8-32 nut and
tighten with wrench. Base assembly is complete.
4. If the target thrower is to be mounted on a tire, place 6”
long bolt down thru center hole in rear leg and thru lug
hole in wheel. Apply 5/16 flat washer and 5/16-18 hex
nut and tighten. If the rear leg section does not clear the
tire, proceed as follows: Remove 3/4” bolt from rear end
of support leg and rear leg assembly. Replace with 6” long
bolt, apply lock washer and nut and retighten. Put 6” long
bolt down thru lug hole in wheel, apply flat washer and
nut, then tighten.
5. If the target thrower is to be mounted on a solid
foundation such as a shooting bench, it is advisable to
put rubber or other suitable material between the target
thrower and the foundation in order to give a cushioning
effect.
TRIGGER STOP ASSEMBLY
1. Place the stop on the throwing arm so holes are aligned
and the notch faces the near end of the throwing arm.
2. Insert 6-32 aluminum post from inside the throwing arm
thru the holes, then screw the 6-32 machine screws into
the post and tighten securely with a screwdriver.
NEOPRENE STRIP ASSEMBLY
1. The bottom inside surface of the throwing arm must
be free of dirt and oil residue as it may prevent proper
adhesion. Prepare surface with a glass cleaner and dry
completely before applying the neoprene strip.
2. The strip MUST be located properly!
3. Lay the throwing arm on a flat surface with the stop
hanging down and to the left. Remove the paper backing
from the neoprene strip and avoid touching the adhesive.
4. Carefully place neoprene strip on the bottom inside of the
throwing arm. End of strip MUST be even with the stop
end of the throwing arm. The side of the strip should abut
surface of throwing arm with dimples.
5. Press neoprene strip firmly in place.

ELEVATION ARM ASSEMBLY
1. Hook one end of extension spring into small hole of
trigger, hook the other end into small hole in elevation
arm and test trigger by pivoting to make sure it moves
freely.
2. Put bronze bearing on shaft, placing large end down,
and put block on bronze bearing through square hole of
block.
3. Align holes, put aluminum throwing arm on block and
place plastic washer over exposed shaft. Snap E-clip
retainer completely into groove of shaft using a pair of
pliers.
4. Put lock washer on 3/8 16x 1 1/4” bolt. Insert bolt
upward through hole closest to bronze bearing, place
flat washer over exposed threads and hand tighten 3/816 hex nut.
5. Put black spring bushing on 3/8-16 x 2” hex bolt, thread
3/8-16 nut to within 1/16” of the spring bushing (use
gap gauge for proper clearance), place lock washer on
3/8-16 bolt, insert upward through hole in block, place
flat washer over bolt and hand tighten 3/8-16 nut.
6. Hold bolt head stationary with wrench and tighten both
nuts on top of the throwing arm with another wrench.
BE SURE A 1/16” GAP IS BETWEEN BLACK SPRING
BUSHING AND BOLT HEAD OF 2” BOLT.
TENSION SPRING ASSEMBLY
1. Place the 5/16-18x3 1/2” bolt into extended hook end of
tension spring so threads of bolt protrude thru tapered
end of spring.
2. Place hook end of spring into groove around spring
bushing. With the hook end facing toward the right side,
insert 3 1/2” bolt through rear hole of elevation arm.
3. Apply 5/16 flat washer and wingnut. Hand tighten
to remove spring slack. BE SURE SPRING STAYS IN
GROOVE OF SPRING BUSHING.
DANGER: DISCONNECT SPRING WHEN NOT IN USE OR ON DISPLAY
FINAL ASSEMBLY
1. Place 5/16-18 x 3/4” carriage bolt thru square hole of
elevation arm and square hole of support leg, then
apply 5/16 flat washer and hand tighten wing nut.
2. Place 5/16-18 x 3/4” hex bolt thru the round elevation
arm hole and round support leg hole, apply lock washer
and tighten 5/16 nut with wrench.
3. Thread lanyard thru eye bolt and tie one end to trigger
and the other end to gap gauge.
4. Assembly is now complete. Please refer to operating
instructions before use.

the wing nut and moving it to another adjustment hole.
Never adjust the elevation angle while the thrower is
